When folks are talking about oil causing clutch slippage, it is usually the transmission clutch.

I've never heard of any reports that oil affected the performance of the starter clutch.

I have an 11SF waiting a rebuilt starter clutch this winter. It's a big job.

To fully flush the engine oil, put about a cup of Berryman's B-12 Chemtool into the warm engine. Then start it up and let it idle for about 5 minutes with a fan running to keep it cool. Shut down, let sit for a few minutes and do the oil and filter. That should get rid of 98% of the gunk in the engine. If it IS really gunked up, ride for about 200 miles and do it again. Just NEVER ride the bike with the B-12 in the oil.

I've experienced less starter clutch slip with conventional oil and oil flush.

I just put mystery oil and it's starting better right away.
