All the Vetter lowers fit the Vetter made fairings, even the VetterV fairings. The differences are how the lowers are cut-out to fit around different engine manufacterers cyls., etc.
Those lowers previously pictured are factory cut so lower clears sides of cyl. heads on XS11's, Suzuki GS's, and Kawasaki KZ's.

I beg to differ Brant, I know for a fact that the type 3 and type 54 have different mounting configurations at the fairing and I believe the mounting holes are spaced different.

Dragon Tamer (RIP) had a Windjammer V on the dragon with type 3 lowers and they didn't fit correctly and holes had to be drilled to mount them.

Thanks for the more specific fitment Greg.......from my previous statement, knew if there were a correction, also knew and could count on you to be the one to do that.

It has all information on the Vetter site about the Vetter Branded fairings.it does not have information about the Yamaha branded fairings that Yamaha contracted with Craig to build. Most parts are interchangeable Windshield lowers etc but there are differences. The Yamaha branded will have the Tuning Forks emblem and the Fairing will have a serial number at the plate where the electronics enter it. You will also see Canada stamped into it in places. Craig told me he was contracted to build these kits for Yamaha and its the prelude to the 81 Venture kit which came with the trunk which my kit did not have. The one on my bike is a china knock off of a Harley one I installed but with a cost of 55.00 it made sense to me. There is very little difference in the Fairings but the mounts bolting directly to the frame do create a more solid mount of things. I have driven bikes with both and there is a different feel at high speed. The ones I have came with a damper kit to attach but was never installed but I never missed it and have lost the parts for it long time ago. Along with the quiet kit that attached to the forks.
To fix the problem one should not make more assumptions than the minimum needed.

                    Hi Ben,
The above set appear to match what I have for Addie except for the extra tail section. PO may have removed the extra length. It is easily removed if it interferes with the fit on Swampthing.

Yeah, I bought a set that covered the "choke" and I simply shortened them.

The pair I bought must have been for some other kind of bike. The side black extension had an oval window that didn't line up with the choke. I guess I got lucky in that the mounting holes all lined up. I know that there are different farings for xs11s and some of those lowers will obviously not fit. They look nothing like the lowers that I have.

Types 2 and 54 are the only lowers specified for the XS11 due to the size of the engine. Most others will melt on the jugs or exhaust.
