Of all the XS11's I've synced here at sea level, I always get approx. 10" on my gauges.

Rich idle mixture settings WILL do that, IF your setting them by highest in. vac.. Lean-drop method is the ONLY correct way of setting idle mixtures, whether it be 'old school' carburated automotive engines OR motorcycles. BTW, NOT my opinion, just a fact that's how it's PROPERLY done. If your positivly nothing else is array, try it.....bet you'll see 22in. across all four, and a smoother running engine than you previously THOUGHT it was.

Yes, I remember years back using the mercury sticks and getting the high perhaps 22 readings but the type of gauges I use now read always about 10. I use the highest reading when setting the mixtures, no way on earth it would ever raise anywhere even near 22.
