The sealing washers that go under the head of the bolts that seal the petcock to the tank. I know the part numver, etc. Done the research on them. Need to be fuel resistant. Viton is recommended. Anybody use anything else that works? Copper crush washers?

Fiber washers are correct for this application, they need little torque to seal the fuel and are rigid. I would imagine copper crush washer would need a higher torque which may not be a good thing here. Rubber viton may be too soft and would deform when tightened I would think.2H7 (79) owned since '89

Fibre washers can be found at a good local hardware in the fastener section.1980 XS1100G "Dolly G" Full Dresser (with a coat of many colors )
1979 XS1100SF (stock-euro mods planned)
1984 XV700L Virago (to be hot-modded)
1983 XJ750MK Midnight Maxim (semi-restored DD)
1977 XS650D ( patiently awaiting resto)
Sometimes it takes a whole tank of gas before you can think straight.

Or I could have wasted time and money on gas running around hoping to find something that "might" work.
On the other hand, if the correct part is no longer available, I will waste time and gas money to find something that may work.1981 XS1100H Venturer
