      Your build is coming along nicely . . . however . . .

IMHO and for safetys sake lowering your footrests is more of a hazard than the lowered front fender.

These bikes have trouble scraping shiny parts in the twisties with everything in top order, I hope you don't wear sandals while riding.

And speaking of the front fender, the right size rock or stick may lock that wheel on ya.

      1979 XS1100SF (stock-euro mods planned)
      1984 XV700L Virago (to be hot-modded)
      1983 XJ750MK Midnight Maxim (semi-restored DD)
      1977 XS650D ( patiently awaiting resto)

Sometimes it takes a whole tank of gas before you can think straight.

How you going to cap off your frame? Missed this question mrhammer2u....
Are referring to the two open frame under the rear blinkers? If so I am looking to install some bullet style brake lights in those holes.

Yup, that's what I was referring to. As for the front fender,...just take it off. It'a a bobber right? I have mine off and like the look. Haven't eaten any rocks,...yet

                    Mr. Hammer,

No fender, but what about a fork brace? An XS650 fork brace like this will be a perfect fit.

I like those lights I was trying to match the turn signals a little more closely. Would luv the no fender, luv the look but with Florida rain and Fnnnn sprinkler systems soaking the roads I can't see fender-less.

maximphil, I will just tape some washers(stacked) on the wheel and spin it around to get my clearance on the fender.

OK lets hide the battery and wires. Plan goes like this:
                                1. use plastic inner fender stock as is.
                                2. lower battery tray to clear seat.
                                3. re-purpose chrome rear fender.
                                4. make some side covers.
                                5. make front cover ( engine side).
