    Well, here is the finished product!!!!

    on a side note, not a single one of my "vents" on the slides were lined up to the engine how they should have been....dunno what that effects, but they are in their proper spot now.

      Looks like your good to go. You'll need to re sync and adjust the idle mixture.

            Sometimes they will seal after being exposed to gas for a while. They'll swell a bit.

              Yup, that's what happened with mine. They leaked right when I first hooked them back up after being out for awhile and I wiggled them around some and found a spot where they leaked less and then the next day they didn't leak anymore.

                Well, I got the O rings... And the bike is apart. Might as well just fix it.

                With my luck it'll leak again when I least expect it.

                And it isn't a slow leak... It's quite a flow.

                  I enjoyed this thread with the short, to the point video clips and it's always good to see a seemingly unfathomable problem worked out and despair held at bay!

                  Great you got it sorted out. The leaking T is a walk in the park..at least it's not difficult to diagnose the problem! The nitrile O rings mentioned are much better than OEM rubber, or whatever they were made of. I've seen ready-made brass T's on eBay, complete with seals.

                      While those are very pricey indeed, at what point do you throw your hands in the air and say "I am just gonna buy the damn things". I have not used the product but may sometime.
                      Every once in a while one wonders why he is spending so much time doing a particular thing when he knows other parts are out there and are just a bit pricey. To them I say go ahead and buy it already, put it in and report back.
                      Myself, I (like you) prefer to niggle away at a problem until I can do it, or come up with an alternative. Part of what makes this forum great is the spirit to keep on doing, until something works. When someone reports back on success with something that has bugged us all it is an instant hit. The Final drive swap is a perfect example of that.
                      Thing is that every rider out there who experiences this may come up with a different solution, and I enjoy solutions.

                            ^ Oh snap! $36 for a t-connector??? Nooooo way! There are tons of things at a hardware store I could make happen for much less before I ever consider that, let alone small bike shops, etc. I know there has to be online places much cheaper than that!

                                I see what you mean! I'm sure they didn't cost that much when I saw them a while ago. No, I wouldn't pay that, and I like fancy bits and pieces and aftermarket stuff...
