Tod, I'd still check your stator windings for gounds. That may or may not effect alternator output (so a check of the charging system could show everything as OK) but if one wire/winding is going to ground that could put an AC component into the DC grounding part of the harness. Most of the electrical parts would 'ignore' this, but that 'monitor' may not...

Use you ohm meter and see if you have continuity to ground on the rotor from those 2 rings we talked about before.

How is it checking the windings if you're nowhere near the windings? The windings and brushes are just hanging there.. what does checking the rotor do?

I just went out and have no continuity between the rotor disks and ground. BUT.. When I touched the brushes, one shows @ 5 ohms. The other will flash a high ohm number then go to infinity. It will repeatedly do this every time you touch it. Should they both not be reading the same?Try your hardest to be the kind of person your dog thinks you are.

Did I not just check for grounds in the stator by testing the white wires to the case?
I just went and replaced the reg/rectifier unit and no change.
