Ok jus wondering if i can use 79 xs1100 float needle valve and seat and gasket on 80 xs1100 carbs. the reason is i need a jet needle for 1 card and it only comes with the 79 set repair kit. it will save me $15 if i can just use those. any idea?

So you can see the Jet Needles are different from each year. They need to be matched to the Emulsion Tube and Main Jet from that particular year/model.

Actually, for correction purposes, the 80-81Special stock main jetting IS 110's across all four carbs. These carbs came with the shorter, quicker taper needles and matching main jetting, hence the different jet needle part numbers. If the number on your needles match the one on the ebay needle, it should work, it will be the same taper.2H7 (79) owned since '89
