Actually the Ford 4.6 & 5.4 use the same studs and I have replaced them with the SS rod and eliminated the problem of broken studs.

I think it was Diver Ray that mentioned the later model metric GM water pump studs will work for our exhaust studs.

found studs at sears...the ss allthread cost me 2.60...at sears each stud was 2.60...WTF!?...found 4 the right size, then had to get 4 that were too long and needed the solid middle part threaded...damn its been a long day...

the exhaust gaskets were new and needed to be crushed...was using a 1/2 in socket wrench...ugh...oh well, the gaskets are in there, and now all i got to do is finish the last stud, get the new ones in there and the exhaust will be done! i hope...

Which engine? Certainly not a V-8. They don't use studs on the 4.8 or 5.3 water pumps or any that I can think of.

Hmmm, from my junkyard days, I would guess a 77 and up (late model ) V8 motor. It might be GM exhaust studs and not water pump studs,

Edit: Ok, I did a search and it's late model Chevy small block exhaust studs, they are the longer type that will work on a Standard.
