+1
+1 to both of you guys, like I said earler, "IF" the bike was running when parked inside for 10 years, the motor is not rusted frozen. The only motors I have seen rust frozen are marine inbord boat motors that had the exaust heat exchangers rust through and then fill the jugs with salt waterYou may have been lied to, if it is seazed, it burned up with no oil in it and he filled it back up to sell it
+1 on what Steve is saying. My xs was parked for 7 years in a uninsulated wood shed in sw Washington... It ran when it was parked in there. I changed the oil, pull the plugs, sprayed some seamfoam deep creep in the holes, dropped a little oil on top of that to lube the cylinder. Hooked the jump box to it and it rolled right over. Put plugs in it added some seamfoam to the oil in the case added gas to tank and lit fire to it. Of course ymmv. I knew mine ran previous to storage cuz I rode it in there.1979 XS1100 Special (Mad Max, OEM) Current

Lmao... I was thinking nitrogen! Not sure is want to introduce compressed breathing air to on oily cylinder under pressure. It'll unstick the piston. But then you may be finding pieces of it for days! Oxygen+petroleum+pressure=combustion.
I got a 6000 psi nitrogen bottle sitting here on the cylinder dock if you really need some pressureDon

OK guys. I have a stuck one at the house. It's an XS650 but that shouldn't make a difference. I bought it in a junk yard for $30, locked up tight. I go home on the 4th. I'll try to make time to grease gun break it when I get home and tell you how easy it was.Marty (in Mississippi)

Different
Thats a different animal,, ball bearings, not like the 1100's. If your motor is frozen, most likley its in the jugs as the bearing very rarly freeze on those. 1100's bearings can spin, causing rattle, then total failure, or, weild to the crank, causing a seized motor

Na
Na, scuba tanks are filled with compressed air, not O2, so it is safe, but 2600 psi will send the piston flying all by its selfLmao... I was thinking nitrogen! Joke
It was a joke Dragon, I hope everyone knows better then to apply 2600 psi of anything to any piston in a cyl, thus the canon referance
If you wanna get technical scubas are filled with compressed breathing air. Which is "suppose" to contain as much o2 as the air out side we breath. Which I'm sure we all know how a diesel works... Air, pressure, oil, bang. Either way 2600 by its self will turn the rod into a question mark....1979 XS1100 Special (Mad Max, OEM) Current
