The CHT probe in my previous post is TSO'd (certified) for aircraft and costs $86.75. Non-TSO probes made for ultralights, experimental aircraft (and motorcycles? ) are also available for $14.50.

Racing Go-Carts use CHT from underneath the spark plug also. If I am not mistaken the manufacturer is Digitron. Dont see why that style wouldnt work for us.

I use those with my VDO head temperature gauge. It's easy to make your own since it's just a piece of thermocouple wire with the ends twisted together and crimped in a large terminal lug.
The ones from VDO all failed after a while because they didn't twist the ends together and just crimped them side by side so they came loose. Don't put the lug under a sparkplug though, it's a nuisance when you need to take the plug out and put it back in. Putting it under a head bolt works best. Then use a small 2 lug terminal strip mounted on the frame to terminate the thermocouple wires and connect them to 2 conductor wire leading to the gauge or computer.

So, did a final conclusion come out favorably for this project?
          A summery would be great!

              Justins Geo M Idea

I am really interested in Justin's Geo Metro throttle body and learning computer idea. This make a lot of sense. Are you going to do it? Do you think it would enough for an 11? Keep us posted if you go for it.

Does it have to be any specific gsxr throttle bodies? There are some on ebay that I was looking at.

                  Is this post dead?

This post is so long I think it is dying. I'll try it anyway. The gsxr throttle bodies I have been looking at on ebay all seem vary. One of the things that looks different is the spacing. Does it need to be a specific year or size to match the xs11 or do you just change the spacing yourself after its sitting in your garage (or barn in my case)?

                    throttle body spacing

I can't tell you for sure, but I know mine fit (very snug) and they were from a 2001 GSXR 600. Not sure if 750/1100 would be interchangeable.

                    Hope that helps,

Well I have started my own research into my question. So far, I can say from some part #s that the 2001-2003 gsxr 600 throttle bodies are all the same and as we know from Dan fit very snug. As far as other models, I will have to call a dealership and get lucky enough to reach someone who will actually help me.

Not dead here. I am a GS throttle cable, an O2 sensor, the temp sensor, and the MS kit from having everything I need. Right now I have the GSXR TB's, fuel pump, and throttle control/kill switch. I think, until I can afford different, I will be using a narrow band O2 sensor. I also plan on doing a major tank mod to mount the GSXR internal fuel pump since the thing is huge. I am thinking about combining two XS special tanks, one on top of the other, for the pump clearance and increased fuel capacity. I never did get to see the pics and vids from the original post as they never worked since I started reading this thread.
