Well I went back at it this morning. The snap ring pliers I have arent long enough to pull the snap ring off of the MC. Off to harbor freight.

Im just going to order a complete rebuild kit from the dealer for the calipers and MC. Today I will get them 100% pulled apart and cleaned. That way after my 5 day wait I can put it all back together and ride.

Still kinda nasty here in Portland OR anyway so, I hope to be done with all I need by mid month.

I will not argue with idiots. They will only try to drag me down to their level and beat me with experience.

None of the HF snapring pliers I saw would work for it. I actually used two rat tail files and ground the ends that go into the handle down to fit the snap ring. Using two of them I was able to pry it out. Otherwise, I think MikesXS has a tool for the job.

I'll back up what Phil says; if you don't put teflon tape (or some sort of thread sealer) on the bleed screw, the Mitivac will just frustrate you. It makes all the difference...

              Snap Ring Pliers

If you've some snap ring pliers you can push the plunger all the way in to get extra room to work. It took me a while to figure out this easy solution.

                update

Well I found a trick to bleeding that works for me.

I got the brakes to pump the piston out of the caliper today (both front calipers). They were nasty! So glad I took the advice to rebuild them. They were caked with all kinds of nasty white crap that was as hard as a rock. The o-rings were all mushed in, and the grove they sat in were all bumpy with rust and hard dirt build up.

I ordered the rebuild kit today. Tomorrow I tear down the MC
