This one time...
SO my first and only time I was at a stop light giving my buddies girlfriend a ride. I asked her if she wanted to see what bike had in her and she affirmed. Well i didn't even push it all the way; slowly but surely the front came off the ground in such a steady way that I probably had it up for a good bit...all the way through first.
She yelled "did we just.." and I said "oh yeah" and she said "that was AWESOME"
Then her boyfriend was pissed. Something about safety.1979 XS1100SF (4-1 Kerker, XS Pods, 145 mains, 45 pilots, drag bars, blacked out)

weight helps
Back in '79 I had to have someone on the back in order to get the front wheel up. A couple of years ago and 30 pounds heavier, I didn't need it. Pulled across three lanes in a left turn (riding with a buddy on a HD) and let it go - the front end came up in second -on the shift- and I left it there as I accelerated. I could see the guys eyes in the pick up in front of me get bigger as he watched it in his rear view mirror. It did kinda surprise me...what an awesome bike.

At thunder beach in panama city, pulled in to a leather shop, that had a dyno tester out front, harleys galore, went inside got what I wanted, came back out, all the harley guys were watching me on my full bagger, so I just popped her up and rode it about 20 feet. I know they were green with envy. LOL. Later 'Dog

oops i did a wheelie twice
my bike is a 79 xs 1100s its not running very well but it gets me from a to b well the first time i pulled out on to a road still in 1st she seemed like she was going to stall (little did i know) so i ripped on the throttle she paused for a second and bam front end was off the ground and i bout pissed my self was not expecting that.
the second time my buddy asked me to take him down the block cause he was never on a bike at the age of 23 so i did he was a big 23 and the back tire just gripped and she ripped he fell right off the back and never wants to ride again poor soal

Just once. Stock gearing then. Going up the hill into Virginia City, NV. Very tight 180 to the right up a steep grade, in 2nd. Needed low in a hurry, so I downshifted without releasing the throttle. Got it up a tad. Not the best time nor place. Haven't felt the need since.
But...just put a set of remanned carbs on it and there are gobs of never-before power on there...1980 XS 11 Special: The King of Kong, 9th wonder of the world. Only did it once, on accident, on my first bike (an '81 650 Special). Dude pulls up next to me at a light, and starts revving his engine. I just shook my head at him. He revs it again, and nods his head towards the light. I think to myself, Sure, why not? Light turns green, I romp on it, and find myself screaming across the intersection with my front wheel in the air, hanging on for dear life. Scared the crap out of me!XS1100SG - Obsession

Not necessarily ever wheelied one. But I did inadvertently take one air born once. A road not far from my house I very rarely find myself on. It has a short but deep dip in it, and I was going a little quicker than speed limit (50 in 35...Really) and hit this dip, me and my XS11 flew about 10-15 feet and I thought certain I was about to go down hard. Thankfully, the road angles worked out well for us and it landed like I had just hit a small bump in the road. When I finally stoped and got off, I had to take a crow bar to get the seat out of my arse!!Life is what happens while your planning everything else!
