      Many Thanks

Thanks for all the compliments. And thanks for all the Info and input and Tech details as well....I will start logging my miles done on this 13T front sprocket and compare it to a 14T front sprocket later and post results....So far I think this 13/42 Ratio is the best all-around Final ratio for street and Hiway....

        Ooh, there's pretty.

        Hi Chop,
that's a great looking bike that shows mega-hours of skilled work but I have two little niggles to make.
No fenders? You can always choose not to go for a ride in the rain but you can't always choose to not come back.
13T sprocket? I'd worry about using a sprocket with that few teeth on anything bigger than a bicycle (my son's 27 speed has an 11T AND the chain runs at an angle but a person can't sustain more than 1/3rd HP while an XS11 motor makes a tad more.) A 15T/48T will give you the same ratio, as will a 17T/55T, or are there space considerations that won't let a sprocket bigger than a 14T fit there? If so, I'd say 14T/45T was a better bet than 13T/42T.

          13t sprocket

This O-ring chain is actually pretty quiet on the 13T sprocket.....I designed the chaindrive using info/tech from (ex)member PGGG that he used a 13T sprocket. And I think Audi junky has/had one as well. I will put the 14T sprocket on with my 42T rear and sip some gas like the xs750/850 Fd mod ratio. I have the Hayabusa fender(that I further customized, but like this look. No, I don't ride in the rain....PERIOD. I will run this bike across the scales whenever I find one and check the weight. I have lost somewhere in the range of 80-90 lbs I figure. The 200 tire and rim weighs even less than the stock 130 tire/rim alone and the design of the rear disc is half of the xs11's disc....rotational weight is way reduced....I think the best part of the swap is the missing torque reaction from the shaft that I was always weary of when hammering in the corners. Also If I were skilled enough I think I could do a "Stoppie" with this front end and 6 POT calipers. I'm not 19 and want to be in one piece when I retire.

            Carbs

I see here in my Sudco catalog mechanical round slide carbs made for the XS11.

I have used them and they work great.

Already tuned for pod filters or airbox and the jetting is almost spot on out of the box.

Benefits: Better performance, Better throttle response, Non CV carbs, easier to jet and tune and their not 30 years old.

Why would you use anything else?

"Why would you use anything else?"

              Hi Jeff,
because those carbies would cost me more than I paid for the bike? Being a pensioner, poverty rules at Fred's place.

                Carbs cost too much?

You get what you pay for.

To be fair I am spoiled. I don't have to pay retail prices.

But, on the other hand, what is your time worth? I know most people have more time than money. I also know tinkering is fun. But in the end how it runs is what it is all about.

                Something to think about...

                  Pleading poverty

                  Hi Jeff,
there's what a thing costs, there's what I can afford to pay and there's the huge gap between them (donations in cash or carbs gratefully accepted).

What it's worth and what you pay and pay and pay

I would gladly trade my personal wholesale parts source for the same deal on everything else.

                      Hi Jeff,
Guaranteed I can cut your XS11's around town gas consumption six or eight fold by this simple stratagem. Go buy a Honda Cub and ride it around town instead.

                        stoppie

you can do a small stoppie with stock brakes you just have to shift your weight
forward hard at the right time .
                        bill

ps on a snow board you can do a wheelly or stoppie
