First Ride!
Well thanks for all the nice compliments. I took my first official ride today. Bro-in-law and I went about 30 miles cruisin around town. Everything works great! I gave her a quicky bath and took some pics in the sun. Those other pics were taken when it was overcast and you can't really see the red on the wheels.
Madbiker, the headlights are just some off-road lights from Harbor Freight with 35w Hellas. The mounting is my own design.
Meri, I made a special trip to the Garage just for you! (It doesn't hurt that I love looking at my "new" bike!) The seat height measures in at a whopping 28.5 inches.
Here's some updated pictures with my new TKAT fork brace polished and installed and the custom license plate bracket we made. It has 6 LEDs that shine inward on the tag. It looks cool cause they make the shock and wheel glow too.
Some close-ups so you know it's not a 20-footer!

One final step
Hi D-B,
I just noticed, on your latest photo spread,
you are still running the stock fabric re-enforced brake hoses. While the stock brakes are OK, the extra stopping power you get from fitting stainless steel re-enforced brake hoses instead is well worth the money. "The life you save could be your own."Fred Hill, S'toon

LIVELIFENOWFF,
I got your PM but it says you cannot accept PM replies so I'm posting here. The shocks are Progressive 412 series 11.5". Do an eBay search for Progressive 11 and you'll see lots of them. The ones I bought were used and for a Harley. I had to grind the shock posts down a little on the bike, then use some metal sleeves from Ace to make them work. A little extra work but considering I bought mine used and only paid $76 shipped when they sell for over $200 new, I would do the same thing over if I had to.
Turn your PM's on. There's an auction right now for some used 11.5" like I got. I tried to post the link but it doesn't work.
Good luck! Let me know if you have any other questions. I'm glad to help if I can.
See ya,

Hi John,
Thanks! I still have the center stand....I'll just bolt it on when I need it. I did not shorten the kickstand yet. It has made for some scary moments in the shop! If you're working on the bike, it doesn't take much pressure to make it wanna tilt. The guy that made my seat has a TIG welder and said he would do it for free. I plan to take it to him soon.
I've put over 65 miles on the rebuild now and I really like it. Took it out on the highway today and it was a blast. I raised up to re-adjust and almost lost my $260 seat! Came straight home and put the velcro strips on the frame so it won't happen again.
Hope to see you in Tejas in June.

I agree with MRO. I think the Mad Mosquito has the nicer lines of the two bikes pictured.
