Thanks for the pat on the back. I will be riding it in 3 weeks....7000 miles from OK to OR and back. We'll be riding to hook up with Ray and others in Tahoe then on up to the Oregon coast.
Andrew - I'm not sure we really know exactly what we're doing. We are indeed having fun but a lot of times when you try something it doesn't always work as planned. The reason I like utilizing a dyno is it yields tangible ...measurable...results. One can talk all day long about whopping increases in torque and 120 hp Elevens but until one can prove it ....it's really nothing more than hot exhaust.
The old addage "Horsepower cost money. How fast can you afford to go?" is an enduring truth. To get one of these old bikes to make 85 hp at the rear wheel is not an expensive proposition. Beyond that the relationship between gains in power and losses to one's wallet becomes exponential.
