skinny perhaps, but you are going to drop some major poundage off the setup...does your xs650 rim have a disk brake?

If your gonna do it I would recommend going ahead and getting the zrx rear wheel too...
You need to make sure that the rear axel is from the zrx1100 because if you mix parts you'll run into a bit of trouble...

the 3 spoke wheel drops a couple more unsprung wt pounds, But since he's going for an original look, he could have the rim widened later on....

          Could do,
But isn't that a bit pricey?
I have some standard forks commin from andreas so I will be able to finish the front. You are correct about the special forks bein a bear to adapt to the r-1 wheel

could be @300 bones, but would be worth it in the cool factor. I have only seen 1 other widened XS rim over in Euro land......
Oh yeah special forks......forgettabboutit.....It will be easier to adapt your R1 calipers to the standards

Yes the holes are there but not the disc as I wanted to save on shipping weight. My EBC pro-lite disc will be used on that wheel.

That's correct... I do not want to venture too far from the stock look of the bike.
If I were to consider changing out the rear wheel I would have to do the front as well for continuity and the bike would start to stop looking like an "XS" series 1100.

All three EBC disc's combined are just a little heaver then one stock disc :-) They are very lite!!!

However you do it up, the bike will be original. I like going to bike night and parking next to the $30-40K Harley-in-a-box bikes, and everyone crowds around mine....Haters

I only have the Hayabusa 6-pots programmed to the CNC, however ALANB and others from the U.K. site have them and have done a few swaps, same as the xs650 guys....

Hey Scap, just remember if you are using xs standard forks and the R1 wheel and rotors, the actual bracket design will be different from the bracket those guys made......
