If I was to use poly bushings I would use a sleeve similar to our shock mounts. Most poly bushing for suspension use have these sleeves. I used to sell 4 x 4 parts.

there a pruduct the used for vintage mustang suspensions, from global west, i think it's called derin white and hard as heck on the durometer, may not need a sleeve.

The Poly part likely matches the engines mount point width. No real sense in having the extra doing nothing ... right.

v-twin......our xs11's won't vibrate you to death....the solid mounts will stiffen up the xs11's frame and the big difference is when you are throttling it in a corner....I thought the fork brace was a great improvement, then I added a set of these....

LOL, it's a VEE-FOUR. (descendant of the V-max/Venture) and it is very smooth. ALL engines buzz some and my worn out old wrists can't take it.

What fork brace do you have? Christopher Chassis Products made a nice chrome molly one. I had them ladder up my swing arm too.

                    sorry

my goof, I rode a vmax couple months ago and it wasn't as smooth as the xs11, but it was definitly smoother than a v-twin....

                      Hi XSchop,
I started with a set of pre-made suspension bushes for a car, which already had the correct inside and outside diameters, so the length was already set. I only thinned the "brim" part of the top-hat bush.

If I could have found the right material I would have made the bushes the same length as the mounts.

                      However, they work well!

                        Hey Alan,

I was going to ask you to give us the type of car, but then realized you're "over there", our luck would be some exotic make/model we don't have over here anyways!?

                          Hi T.C.
The bushes are made by "Powerflex". They do a big range of Specific Fit bushes, But the ones I used were from their range of "Universals" designed to be modded for unusual vehicles. They go up in (I think) 2mm steps, and come with an overlength (60mm?) centre bush.
So they are not meant for anything specific!

The centre bushes were made up by a local engineer, and the Poly bushes got the "brim" thinned a little. I also upped the size of the bolts which hold the front mounts to the frame from 8mm to 10.

Question, why didn't you extend the poly all the way to the end of the inner metal mount?
Another reason for not extending the rubber the full length of the inner bush is coz the tube spacer has locating pieces tacked on that locate over the inner bush.

i think it's called derin white and hard as heck on the durometer, may not need a sleeve.
We use rock hard plastics where I work (pharmaceutical industry) and have to constantly re-torque the bolts down on it because it creeps like crazy. I really would recommend using steel insert bushes.
