Depends on what you are looking to do. I ride a V star 1300 (09) and its a good ride. It however is not the power house the XS is. Remember your V's are big twins so about 650 cc per cylinder on mine. Does not shake your teeth out like a Harley and will edge them out on a run. I was able to pick it up new in 2010 for about 9,000 out the door.

My second bike is a V-Star-1100 Classic and it is just a great bike! It was good stock, but it easily became a great bike with just a few simple mods. In addition, it is air-cooled with a shaft drive just like the XS1100. Further, it was manufactured for about ten years and parts are abundant and bikes are reasonable if not cheap.

There are a lot of choices. You may need to narrow it down.

I have a friend that had 1700 V Star Warrior.........70hp. My XS ran circles around it. The inline 4 is what you want to stick with if you want smooth power and performance.

I agree that the XS 1100 inline 4 is hard to beat. I also think that the overhead valve design of the warrior has its limitations and does not have the potential of a v-twin with overhead cams.

I'd go for a Yamaha V4 Royal Star or a Honda Valkyie.
These modern style bikes look all the same to me I'm afraid.

For me, either one of the MG Griso(s) pictured will do just fine, thank you very much ...

                      lol

I probably would try to find a 80 Yamaha xs750 special. I have had the 650, 850 and now the 1100 all 1980s

I would have to go with the XJR1300, Honda Valkyrie, or a Goldwing.
