Just saw your post about the 550 rotor Chop. yes the rotors are 6 bolt, not sure if they are the same diameter as the 11 though. I plan on using the rotors offf the 11 on the 550 wheel. Should turn out allright. The 550 only uses 1 rotor , but the mounting bolts go all the way through the hub, So I am gonna try to use the dual setup. We'll see if it works or not

Hi Audi,

I have a wire-spoke wheel from an XS650 on one of my XS11s; It was a straight swap, all the brakes, spacers and speedo drive dropped right in.

Over here, the 650 twin came as a "Special", with mag-type wheels (16"+19", both discs) or a "standard" (also called roadsters over here!) with alloy-rimmed wire wheels (18"+19", drum rear, disc front)

I know you had a lot more versions, but the front wheels should all go into the 1100!

I have looked into getting the 650 spoked wheel for my 11. Problem is on Ebay they go for like 100.00 dollars. I got the 550 front wheel for 20.00. I payed 14.00 for bearings that will let me use the 550 wheel with the 1100 axle. Only thing I have got to figure out yet is if the speedo drive from the 550 will fit over the 1100 axle. I already got a cable and an after market speedo that will work with the 550 stuff.

Is the 650 wheel you used dual or single disk? I think all the ones I have seen are single.

Hi Audi,

It is Twin disc; as I said, it was a straight swap into the 1100 forks.

The 650 "specials" we got here were single disc, (Mag wheels!)but the wheel had both sides machined, one side had a cover over the disc holes. As I said, I know that you got a lot more varieties than the UK, but surely some had the same hub?

Audi, the 550 speedo drive won't fit over the XS11 axle if the 550 does have a thinner axle, but the XS11 speedo drive might fit the 550 wheel hub, my XJ900 speedo drive wouldn't fit over the fatter XS11 axle but the XS11 speedo drive still matched to the XJ900 wheel hub, so if lucky, chances are the XS11 speedo drive will still match up to the 550 wheel hub

Hey Pggg,
The 1100 speedo drive wont work with 550 hub, I have already looked. I cant remember how it was setup exactly but the 550 hub and 1100 speedo drive drive were either both female, or male styles. If you know what I mean. I am hoping the 550 drive has enough room for me to widen to fit over the 1100 axle. Haven't really got that far yet. still working on the back end. Hopefully by this weekend the rear will be setup.

I RODE IT YESTERDAY!!!!!!
All be it a short test ride around the hood. I need some type of swingarm/chain pad or guard. Any one got any ideas? I looked on ebay but nothing quite looked like what I need.

how does the rear suspension feel with the busa shock?

It feels good, havent hit anything at speed, but it is pretty solid. And it is adjustable , so I think I need to raise it a little but other than that all is good. When I put my chain on I did it on the center stand, and it was tight , but when I took it off and sat on it the chain (I think) had too much slack. So I am going to adjust it with it on the side stand. Other than that everything seems good to go . Gonna take some pics this weekend and post on Monday. I really need to get/make a rear fender soon, cause I am gettin the itch.

I am gonna stop by my buddies shop sometime and see if he has any ideas/parts I might beable to use. He also told me I could have any stock pipes he may remove from another bike. So we will see? Might put some stock busa pipes on if he has them.

I always have wondered what headers form other bikes could be made to work with the xs11....Busa would definitly spark my interest if they were compatible.....good luck and let me know....chop

I dont know about the headers, I was thinking more mufflers or baffles.
