  • I got it off ebay for about 150.00 I think. It was definetly cheaper than any other place I could find it . And the add also said it could fit on rims 5.5 to 6.5 and that is the main reason why I got it.

    • nice tire

I don't want to and can't trouble shoot your wheel/chain setup from here, but I looked at your sketch and looks like your rim is 6.5" ?

      • goof

that's a 6 5/8" OUTTER EDGE to OUTTER EDGE....correct? if it helps, look at page 7 of BEGGING NEW MOD....I think that you may even be lucky and your OUTTER RIM EDGE to INNER REAR SPROCKET EDGE is probably shorter than mine( which means your chain may clear that lower inner tube......CHOP

        • or it could rub that 200 you've got 5/16" inward advantage over my setup when it comes to frame clearance up front though....hope this helps...chop

          • Let see the rear rim is 6 5/8" outer edge to outer edge. right now I have 12.4 mm or .4873 " between my inner edge rear sprocket and the edge of the tire. dont know if thats enough for clearance, but according to you and pggg the chain is 25 mm. I did some math and I think it should clear, not by much, but we'll see. My math and measuring has been wrong before. Just looking at my front sprocket from the rear with the tire on you can tell I have it out on the shaft too far. As soon as I get the pipe I am making spacers out of and get the wheel set I should get a better Idea. Thanks for your help guys We gotta keep this thread going till we get some finished product pics.

hard to tell from the last pic, but your rear sprocket could be spaced out with some mic'ed washers(between sprocket & wheel) just to get your chain where it won't rub the tire....jat.

              • I just bought a 7/16 billet aluminum spacer off jp cycles(already installed). I thought it would push the sprocket out enough. according to my math though I am only going to have 4.5mm between tire edge and chain edge. I guess we'll see. I am not going to buy anything else untill I get a chain and it all rigged up. Im outta here for the day. talk to you tomorrow.

                  • Well I got my swingarm back yesterday all welded up. I was hoping I could get the monshock setup in without moving the battery but it turns out that is not the case. So last night I pulled the battery box, removed my seat and homemade seat pan(of sorts) disconnected all the wiring in the way , cut the battery box mounting tabs. I am going to move the battery toward the front of the bike but keep it relatively in the same location, gonna weld some angle iron to the front of the tubing the original battery mounting tabs were on. Should turn out all right, but dont know yet cause I ran out of wire for my welder, gotta get some today. I plan on also using a piece of angle iron ALA chop for the upper shock mount. Not gonna be as forward on the bike as his though, gonna be welded to the top frame rails under seat, a couple inches back of the forward tube on the V( if you know what I mean)The two tubes that go up from the swing arm mounting holes.
I have a question though, Is there a standard angle the shock should be mounted at? Well figured I would just fill everyone in on were I stand now. MAN I want to get this thing done soon. The weather here is starting to get nice.

u just have to make sure it clears everything throughout the full motion. I actually copied the exact mounting geometries from the triumph....I will be able to mount the electrics/brain directly under the seat the way I did mine....thanks for the eye 2 eye mesure....chop

                      • 'True' width measures between the 'steps' inside the rim, hell your guys' bikes' are lookin' damn good, love the spoked wheel, 14 X 45 gives 3700 revs @ 100 kph (depending on tyre profile)

                        • Thanks Pggg,
hopefully Mon. I will have some photos to post of everything together. Got to weld some more stuff together gonna take some in process shots. I have got the rear shock mounts all welded on except for the lower ones the monoshock connection rods (for lack of a better term) connect to. I would like you alls input on wether you think these welds and mounting methods will be strong enough, so please stay tuned.

                          • can't wait

Hey audi, I used 1/4" thick 2"x2" angle iron and ran it across the lowest frame connector. It worked perfect(because it welds right up to the back of the centerstand hangers and all along the lower support tube. then off that you can easily put the shock linkage attachment 1 of a thousand ways....
