I keep hearing about the lack of charging power on these XS11's and I was wondering how many of you were seriously interested in more output from the alternator? I have a friend who's business is rebuilding alternators and we have discussed the possibilities and how to increase the output. I'm thinking of doing something about mine and I was wondering how much interest there was in such a modification among the XS's.

Planedick,
I've toyed with the idea of increasing the number of windings on the field coil, there's enough room there to get 10-15 percent more turns on it. That would boost the output a bit. Just haven't got my hands on a spare alternator to try it out.

More turns...
Just adding more turns won't work. In addition to more turns you also need to increase the wire size or the extra amperage will make the wire too hot and short out. I'm also working on an oil pressure guage, amp guage, and remote idle adjust. You can't stay young forever, but you can be immature for the rest of your life...

Guages
I was thinking of making a bracket to mount on top of the instrument group attached with hot melt glue to hold the amp guage and the oil pressure guage, maybe with a light inside them.....You can't stay young forever, but you can be immature for the rest of your life...
