    I agree with Mike.

If other members posted there thoughts on the matter then we'd get an idea what members would like.

I would buy a couple if the "E" was left off. Not enough demand for a specific model year anniversary such as for my XJ. A more generic patch would be more attractive to all XS - XJ owners, IMHO.

        +1 What Jerry said.

It's not a big deal if the "E" can't go away, I know it's there for hysterical purposes and all of that.

This year is the 40 Year celebration/recognition of The First, Original, XS1100 Standard.
Next year will be the 40th for The First, Original, Special
2022 will be the 40th for The First, Original, XJ
2025 will be the 40th for The First, Original, Vmax

All successors are copies not First/Original models so to me it doesn't make sense to recognize their anniversaries.

I'm interested in the patch to show that 40 years ago Yamaha built a machine that kicked the competitions ass and still runs amazingly well today.

          1979 XS1100SF (stock-euro mods planned)
          1984 XV700L Virago (to be hot-modded)
          1983 XJ750MK Midnight Maxim (semi-restored DD)
          1977 XS650D ( patiently awaiting resto)

Sometimes it takes a whole tank of gas before you can think straight.

            E

Leave the E on for mine! That's the anniversary. And frankly, there aren't that many left.
