That's interesting. Thanks. How about interchange between a Special and a Sport? Anyone here tried that? Although I can already see the Sport bracket retains the higher foot rest position, just back a bit.

      Hi Marty,

The US Specials and Venturer footrest brackets are the same as the Euro Sport 5K7, only difference is the SF's are plain without the decorative groove and, of course, the finish.

The 5K7 Sport footrests are different than the 2H9 Euro Standard as they are more rearset.

I'll be doing a well documented Euro conversion on my SF that will show how the Sport parts fit, starting a thread, in about a month or so.

        Schming,

I look forward to following that. The reason I brought this up is because I recently rode an E. The pegs are lower than on my Special. At least, they sure feel lower. The seat might be up just a bit as well.

The SG doesn't have the "bug" either. As far as I know the only XS's that do are the H's and the SH's.

Oops Yes you are correct Greg, and may I add the LH to the list.

                Stock Seat Height:

                XS 1100E - 32.3"

                XS 1100 SG - 31.4"

Also the E's seat is wider

I guess the difference in the rear wheel size will affect seat height, but I think the seat pans are different heights also.

From the seat of my pants, to the sole of my shoe, and looking at the difference in appearance of the brackets, I'm convinced the Special foot rests are farther from the ground than the standard, and thus, closer to the seat. I'm sure the seat is lower as well.

                      Steve,
I know better than to doubt you. I was driven to my belief of lower standard foot position by the shape of the brackets.

                        Hey, Ben!

I just read this and it gave me a good chuckle.

Da Vinci said, “Take this screw helicopter and shove it up your ass, you self-inflated prick.” The only thing this guy created was a ****tier version of a motorcycle. Or at least the signature on the check to pay for it. All you aspiring artists, please stick to expressing yourself with papier mâché or charcoal or Tumblr soliloquies or whatever. Motorcycles are not blank canvasses on which to ejaculate your self-importance. If you really like motorcycles, get one, make it run properly and go out and ride it.
