Fortunate it didn't happen when you were going faster

Hate to hear about these mishaps. Fortunately your daughter is ok and you are too for the most part. The brake systems on these bikes really leaves a lot to be desired. Get well soon.

          HARRY
i broke my leg the same way only closer to the ankle...

i had a device called a bone stimulater that i had to use 2 times a day

it uses ultrasound to help the healing process

it cut the recovery time in half...you might want to ask the doctor about it

it worked great for me and got me back on my feet in 6 1/2 weeks..

          hope ya heal up fast

                      Well, heck Harry!
Man, sorry to hear that happened.
Glad your daughter's ok. That would've been even worse.

Take it easy, and I hope all goes well with the recovery.

I'm always here for ya, if you need anything...
Always at the ready for a quick smart remark, jab, etc...
But, I probably oughta go easy on trying to make ya laugh since ya got a broken rib and all....

I just came home yesterday from Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa's ICU burn unit myself.
Been real sick with a bad cold, fever, earache, sore throat, etc...
Couldn't shake it. So I went to the Dr, and he gave me a steroid pack along with a sulpha antibiotic called Bactrim.
It almost killed me! I had a severe allergic reaction to it, and wound up in the ER. They thought I had Stevens-Johnson Syndrome, which is fatal.
I broke out in massive hives, head to toe.
Treating me with a steroid and lots of Benadryl.
Itching like crazy! It's like having a 3rd degree sunburn, all over.
I got to come home yesterday, though. Doesn't look like I have the syndrome.
Hives are looking much better this morning, but still itches like crazy.
Good news is, I got rid of the cold symptoms or whatever it was making me so sick. I do fine with Penicillin- based AB's, first time for the sulpha stuff.
Note to self... Never again for this boy! Holy crap...
Never imagined a $20 AB could do so much harm! Live and learn...

                      Get well soon, my friend!
I'll be hanging out at home from work for the next week or so, so if you get bored and wanna talk, gimmee a call.

Heal well and fast, Harry-- Sorry to hear of your mis-hap. I don't want to begin a new thread here-- It's like when one kid at school tells about an injury, they ALL want to get on the injury tale bandwagon. Well, I'm going to do just that, as misery loves company! When I was 17, right out of high school ( before my moto-cross racing summers), I had a TS 125 Suzuki, all hopped up and stripped for dirt riding. Long story short, I tore the carb apart and put the slide needle in wrong, and it held the throttle WIDE open for a few seconds while giving it a spin around our yard. Well, in those few seconds, I hit a converted school bus that was now a hippie RV on my aunt's property, and broke my leg right below the knee joint. It's o k, but boy did I feel stupid. My bad, as they say. At least your injury wasn't your fault like mine!! Get well and heal up fast!!

Well, they are keeping me again tonight, might get to go home tomorrow. Talked to the surgeon, I guess the bone was pretty broken up and the ACL had been ripped loose from the bone. He fixed that along with everything else while he was in there.

Bob, glad to hear that you are ok, Thats some scary stuff, you went through.
