      disenfranchised by geography

      Hi TC,
the not available thing still happens now and again in voteless Saskatoon SK but far less often than it used to.
What gets to me the most is right after my typing finger has finally finished a post and my mouse finger does the clickything and THEN the site bombs out and the laboriously constructed post disappears forever.
I have taken to bluelighting & Ctrl+c ing the post before mouseclicking but I shouldn't have to eff around like that.

Happening in Alberta as well. Usually is down for me 3-4 times a day, (usually when posting a reply). Just got used to it, as I check it rather often. Weird though, its the only website I've ever been to that consistently drops its signal.

+1. It's been better here in the last couple weeks, but I get the message and can't get on more than I am able to access the site. Using Chrome, but I would get the same message using Explorer.

Here in Alberta I have seen more than normal outages in the past few weeks. About once a week it starts to slow down, then it wont find the page at all. Usually it will be back on within the hour with me doing nothing to my computer. Its speed seems to be back then as well.
I am using the Explorer on my new puter with windows (I hate it) eight. I have yet to download Chrome or Firefox and try them. Funny thing is that when my puter is down I can still access it on my Android as long as I am not on my Wi-Fi. Have spent hours on the phone and getting techs to set everything up correctly so I am fairly certain that my setup is ok, but who knows.

              Site Down

              Hello
Have not posted anything about this for some time but shortly after the upgrade the trouble accessing the site started again. I would say 2 to 3 times every week and have seen days when site is not accessable for more than a couple of hours. Just wondering what the story about why it drops offline now. Now I have had dealings with sites before and the big issue with host sites is problems with main bandwith starts working on a priorty basis and as all bandwidth is used it starts dropping. Its definately not an access problem from my side because even Cisco can't find XS11 when it happens.

              Thanks.
To fix the problem one should not make more assumptions than the minimum needed.

                      Hi Greg,
When that happens to me I disconnect and then reconnect some time that helps or even reboot your computer to eliminate that possibility too.
Running fine for me to night.

On November 13 2013 I had a PM. I was unable to access the site for at least 4 hours that I know of, to try to reply to that PM. Next day worked just fine.
While this was only a bit annoying to me it could have made the difference between a sale or not, or an even costlier mistake like bent valves due to someone not waiting for a reply.
Point is, that while we all expect perfection we do accede that there are irregularities. Another point is that better servers do the job and get the info to where it has to go. I know you get what you pay for but since my last 50 bucks went into the kitty, it has done nothing but get worse.

Never had this problem before. I'm on a brand new laptop.

All other sites are working fine. Ha ha....even Facebook if you can believe that.

Mine often freezes, especially after posting a message or new thread. So, I never know if it's gone through onto the site. Usually, I copy the text just in case.

I never have a problem actually getting the site to load. It used to be quite bad but has been fine for months now. Just the posting a message thing.....

Please don't do anything like generate income from advertising if a costly fix is necessary! Ask everyone to chip in a few dollars....it would be worth it.....
