I have a suggestion that I would like for some others to try and see if it helps any. I was having problems as described by Steve in the proceeding but have had a month of no problems. First I'll explain that it took quite some time of arguement with my ISP before I got this Idea mainly because they are so smart they know they can not be the problem. Most ISP providers have a domain server and typically a DNS Name server which does the look up for sites giving a TCP physical address to find the site. My ISP provided all these services but many times it would start to stall looking for the site or looking for the next page after I had been sitting there. I pushed them to tell me what they were using as a DNS server for their network and finally come to find out that they were switching over to new network protocols to handle network communication. Finally they told me that the upper level was using google's main DNS servers so I switched to them as my DNS. My problems have dissapeared. Primary DNS 8.8.8.8 secondary 8.8.4.4 . My hope is that others will try this to see if their issues dissapear.
To fix the problem one should not make more assumptions than the minimum needed.

Firefox can't find the server at www.xs11.com.

          or

          Oops! Page Not Found

Fairly often. It is a pain. As well as usually being real slow in general.

            Hi Tod,
Please don't go away. I thought you were maybe still in Neptunes Garden or where ever you went for vacation
I just reboot my computer and that seems to fix it for me.

I generally have no problems getting to the site. I have multiple computers, and access paths (different IPs).

For about the past 20 hours or so, I got the Page is not accessible or HTTP 404 Errors.

Obviously back and happy now, just letting you know what has been happening.

Site was unseen for more than a day. No one broadcasting the XS11 site and you could not ping the IP address. I would guess that either the server that hosts our page was down or the hosting company's Name Server bit the dust. But inquiring minds want to know.

I wrote to the folks that handle the hosting, and they said that the MySql program that handles the databases(forums/threads, etc.) had STALLED!? They restarted it, and that brought us back up. Don't know WHY it stalled?

I'll perform some regular housekeeping on the Databases and see if that doesn't help to stabilize things???

                                No problems, here in Aggieland!

                                Thanks, T.C.!

But I have never had problems logging into the site.

I can do it from home and work, with no problems.

                                Hope this helps!
