    blind squirrel

Hit a fox at night while racing a GTO on my R5B-350 and wipped out I am so glad the GTO had good brakes.

In 1975 my cousin was in front of us and just missed a squirrel at low speed with the bell bottoms on it funneled up his leg and you never seen a man stip out of jeens so fast.

So it goes to show ( EVEN A BLIND SQUIRREL FINDS A NUT EVERY NOW AND THEN )
To fix the problem one should not make more assumptions than the minimum needed.

It couldn't have been an early GTO. They barely had any brakes.

I hit a person when I was riding my XS1100 at 30mph. They stepped right out in front of me with no warning. A dead on hit sent them flying into the air and they did a full somersault and landed flat out on the ground. I was on the floor by then, bike on its side. I got up and went to the victim and he got up and ran away!! My headlamp was wrecked and the fuel tank had a huge dent in it. Forks OK. It cost a lot of money in genuine Yamaha spares to fix it though!

I found where the person lived and they were uninjured, miraculously. They also said to "forget the whole thing" and didn't even claim on my insurance. Weird.

XS has been very animal friendly... ran over a dead hedgehog with my GPz600R, a bird flew in my guzzis rear rim (spokes) and it catapulted it into the field... swmbo told me later, I didnt even notice it (she was riding behind me on her CBR). Second bird did the same trick with the front wheel. Didnt bother to check for damage.
If it doesn't have an engine, it's not a sport, it's only a game.

The Fire Dragon strikes again!! Coming back home from a poker run yesterday and a wood duck came out of a creek from the right side. It caught the bike right in the middle of the lower part of the fairing. Made one heck of a bang, feathers flew everywhere. No real damage to anything but the duck.

Here is the remains of the what it ejected when it hit>>>

If there are more than three bolts holding it on there, it is most likely a very important part!

Took out a juvenile woodchuck yesterday, I guess about ten lbs or so, heard his skull pop under the back tire. just felt like a small speed bump on my end.

Had a kamikaze blue jay try to take me out at about 70 mph one day. Hit me in the chest rocked me around pretty good. But I was able to pull over on the side until I could breath again . No damage but my leather had an odd blue and red stain on it.

I got an award for mine

The Biggar Classic Bike Rally has a Bugsplat award.
Rallyists going on the Saturday lunch ride to Ruthilda (population 6) are issued a 2" diameter stick-on paper target for their bike.
Target with the most bugs on it after the bikes get back to Biggar wins a prize.
This year my single giant dragonfly was declared the winner.
Got one of the world's fanciest multi-screwdriver.
Not a Dr. Who sonic model but pretty close.
