    HI,

On your way to Steampunk with all that copper.

Just got a set of used headers exactly like yours. What brand are they?

    Cheers.

    • That's a Mac 4 into 2 w/taper tip mufflers. The taper tips are too quiet for my liking.

He is correct. I'm happy with them, but they mount a little bit proud of the stock mufflers so it's a hard to get to the kick stand without getting black marks on the muffler.

I welded an extension on the kick lever and brought it up around the muffler and then out. It makes it easier to get to but I've still always got a black mark on the muffler all the time.

          • Thanks. I have flared tips on mine. Have not heard it yet.

What's needed is a kick limiter to stop it before it hits the muffler. I'll look into that. Mine has the black marks too.

            • I have one with the flares, it sounds almost stock but a little louder. I like the turnouts on my SG best though.

              • Cool. TFTI.

The other bike I just got has the spaghetti 4 into 2 Jardines with megaphones and they sound real nice. Not too loud but nice and loud... and meaty.

                • Got cold.

22 degrees this morning. 10 miles to first ferry, 20 minutes on boat. Another 10 miles to a bigger ferry, 2 hours on that boat. Then I last blasted down the freeway at 75, took about 25 minutes. Would have been a bit chilly for a longer ride. The short hops gave me time to warm up.
Some one had tried to remove the frame holding on my saddle bags and top box. 2 bolts at rear missing, 1 top of shock nut missing, the other one lose. One lower mounting bolt lose. So I replaced the missing nuts and bolts. Then made a loop using SS wyre through the bag's frame, and through the chassis, and swaged the ends. The wyre is very hard to cut.

                    • Found some nasty scratches on the cam caps and corresponding cam journal. Measured the clearances and despite that, all were well within spec. 0.003". Service limit is 0.006"

Yami is parked in a car park when I am in Victoria BC. Not visible from the street, and locked in at night. Also has cameras and security. But with all the bolts missing or lose, I have to suspect someone was trying to remove them. Two crescent wrenches would do the job. Some of the bolts have nyloc nuts that do not vibrate lose. Victoria can be a dog eat dog city where anything can get stolen. Like my bicycle that went missing off my dock that has a locked gate. I now chain my new bicycle to a post.

                        • I changed all lubricants on my G in anticipation of our Key West rally.
Final drive, middle drive, and engine all have fresh oil now.
I opted for 75w 145w synthetic for the middle and final drives, I'll let you know how it works. 20w 50w for the engine.

                              • Went to get tags for Ol' Okie today, the lady at the tag agency said the tags expired in January of.................2013!

Somehow I forgot to tag it last year. I rode that crazy thing To Texas, Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas, and North Carolina (crossing Arkansas, Tennessee, and riding around Georgia) last year with EXPIRED TAGS!!!!!

Now I have to pay 2 years taxes and a 1 year late fee..............
