After 40 years as a daily driver, yes, it had a leak. Not anymore. Actually the leak was from a seal that didn't seat right when I replaced it last year. I'm sure some other makes of vehicles use this same seal .

I've heard the PVC will work as spacers in the front fork tubes if you extend them but I have serious doubts about the drive shaft.

Maybe I can wrap the driveshaft with masking tape as a spacer... lol

Then when it's done I take some good pictures and post them so everybody can laugh at my poor painting skills, although it does look pretty good for a rattle can. I gotta say that duplicolor has gotten it down on making it easy to get a really good finish with a rattle can.
I quoted myself because plans changed. The paint job is being put off for a couple of weeks, because I wanted to ride. so I rode a little, and then I got tired of my turn signals on the rear twisting up or down (right side down, left side up) because they hit the hard bags. So, I finally figured out how to shorten the signal stalks so they don't hit anymore. It's nice, they are actually not hitting the bags anymore, so they should stay where I put them.

                  • Well, of course the PO told me the bike had progressive springs in it. When I changed fork seals I found otherwise. Now it has progressive springs and shocks.

                      • Today I did a fair bit:
                        • set idle mixture
                        • synced carbs
                        • changed oil
                        • changed diff oil

But I forgot to change the sparkplugs. Despite old plugs, she sounds so happy now

                        • plugs

I pulled the plugs and checked/cleaned them - 2 inner were tan/good. The 2 outers were sooty but OK - cleaned checked gap and replaced - fired up quicker anyway!

Now to figure out why running richer in outer cylinders and sooting them up.
