Suckerpunch, I picked it up on ebay and made it fit. I'm not sure what it's from...it was a Harley but they didn't have a clue as to what one.

T99ford, Those bars aren't on this bike that's and old pic of another one. I'm not sure I could handle the "bunny ear" setup. Isn't it a little odd to be bent forward so far with your feet under your hands?
I was thinking of some highway pegs for this one, at some point.

It is odd, but that is the idea behind rear sets. On longer trips, I actually use the passenger pegs. If I am shifting alot (hard riding) I usually have my feet to the rear of the pegs, and just my toes are actually on them. It is not as uncomfortable as it would seem, and makes the bike handle like it is on rails. It feels way lighter. And on a naked bike, makes it so you can lay on the tank at a buck twenty and not get blown off!

As far as bunny ears...that is just kind of the way it looks. You either love it, or hate it It makes it look like a cafe bike. Here is an older pic of my bunny ear set up:

ps. I know the decals are not level. Some D-bag scratched the crap out of the tank there, and I just move the decal on that side down to cover it, instead of repainting the whole tank, since it is riding season. From each side you can't tell so that is how it rolls now...

Some people will tell you that slow is good - and it may be, on some days - but I am here to tell you that fast is better. I’ve always believed this, in spite of the trouble it’s caused me. Point taken, and it does look nice. This bike is going to stay looking they way it is, maybe some highway pegs......I'm going the cafe route with the 1200, rear sets, bunny ears and all, even a cafe fairing if it doesn't look too odd. Don't look at the parts garage...it's full of junk.

I wasn't going to say anything about the logos, I knew there was a reason at first look.

I hope you didn't take it that I was telling you what to do. Both your bikes look good. Highway pegs and highway bars def make for a nicer cruise around town, too. I really like what you are doing with the 1200, what rear shocks are those?

Not at all, I enjoy the input. God knows there's no xsheadeds around here to kick it around with. I just don't want to change the 79 much from factory, 7,000 miles and all. Some day it may go back to stock.
The 1200 has been changed so much I don't feel bad doing a total redo on it.
You know if you get that 500 mile 80sg and bob it the xs11.com elders will come down and hang you.

Oh yeh, I'm not sure about the shocks. They were in the parts boxes I got with the bike. I have a gas charged set I was going to use. If you want them I'll be getting rid of them after I'm sure the others will work.

Is there a part number or anything stamped under the seat?

P.S. Bike looks incredible. Very nicely done.

I just threw the bob thing out there cause everyone gets so riled up about it I actually want to make it into a around town/ distance cruiser, so about the only thing I would change would be the bars, kind of go to a drag bar setup. I would also put bags and highway bars on it. Hopefully it works out...

Those shocks are bad ass. Let me know if you find out what kind they are.
