Cats are good for moving target practice, plus my staffy cross dog totally loves them, does his absolute best to spread them all over the yard as fertilizer. Been quite a while since one has come into this yard
Considering the subject thread, that is really TACKY and uncalled for...

One day you lot might begin to understand the southern hemisphere sense of humour
There are actually a couple of cats that I will pick up and stroke. However, some of the moggies cause me to have an allergic reaction very similar to hayfever, so most of them are hunted away.
As for the dog bit, I have had hounds in the yard for nearly 20 years, (one of them is sitting between my legs as I type, and has gassed me) living in an area which has a lot of undesirables nearby makes a "self propelled burglar alarm" a necessity.
About three weeks ago some lowlife got into a car in the driveway in the early hours, leaving rapidly when the dishlickers arced up. Don't know any cats that can do that.
I understand that it's sometimes irresistible to try to take the piss out of us yanks.
It's true that sometimes I don't seem to understand the down under sense of humor.
I had a neighbor whose cat had an interesting way of dealing with dogs... It would sneak up on them and then pounce onto their back, then would dig in and hang on...
Don't feel singled out, we are quite willing to take the piss out of anybody, anytime.
Lots of people from all over the planet seem to have trouble with our sense of humour, even a few Aussies (especially if they take themselves too seriously).
Neighbours cat may have been going back to hunting actions of distant ancestors, jump on and kill with bite to spine.
Orange moggy from two doors down used to come in and **** in flower bed at front fence (bad pong), timed it poorly one morning when we went out to get paper, made it to tree on his front lawn by less than 3 feet. did not come back again. Good Cat.
My cats are like my children and I am very protective of them...
Hmmm... I was always under the impression that cats were disposable pets??
I don't have cats because they are a nuisance to others most of the time. I have a fenced in back yard that keeps dogs out..(Or mine in when I have them) but not cats. We get wild rabbits with babies pretty regularly.. until the neighbor's cats figure it out. They have recently started hunting in my goldfish pond. A couple have gotten lead poisoning.
If you're the ones that keep your cats inside and don't let them roam.. then I'm not talking to you.

Try your hardest to be the kind of person your dog thinks you are.
You can live to be 100, as long as you give up everything that would make you want to live to be 100!

My cats are de-clawed and never outside the house. I also hate "roaming" cats but don't harm them. After all they did not choose their plight in most cases. Animals we bring home are after all completely at our mercy and have no control over their future. "FIX" your pets unless your a serious breeder.
Anyway, the rest of that little showed up today. Turns out the mother had the litter under the retractable dock ramp of the building next door. Good thing they don't use the ramp. So 2 more were rounded up and taken to the humane and 1 is outstanding. Perhaps it will show up before the week is out. The one I brought home has been named Pearl by my Daughter for the white ring around the kitten's neck. So Pearl has settled in nicely, is eating wet food, playing with toys and pretty much behaving like any other normally acquired cat.

I suggest doing a net search for a performer called "Kevin 'Bloody' Wilson".
Particular track coming to mind is "That F***ing Cat's Back", also "Nigel Talkabout" and "Can't say C*** in Canada" may give insight into what tickles the funny bones of the down under mob.
CAUTION Do Not listen to "KBW" if offended by coarse laguage!
Most our cats were strays, a couple were abandoned by people in the neighborhood when they moved. They are all fixed and never go outside, don't think they would go out if you let them. All of them adopted us, we simply opened the door and they walked in.
cueball, I'll definitely check them out as comedy is my favorite form of entertainment, even if I don't always get it.

We don't keep our cat inside... she just refuses to go outside (most of the time)...
We have to kick her out of the house occasionally so she'll get some fresh air...
A grand day out is a trip to the back corner of the yard... and then she comes back winded...
(She's getting old...)

If I can make at least one person smile, or pee their pants a little, or maybe spit out their drink; then my day is not wasted.
I remember that back in the 80's. My dad was alive then and was watching the show with us and really got a bang out of it.
He remebered it from way back. He said there were as many verses as there were singers of the song.
Thank you for posting that Kat. Brought back some warm memories.

My pleasure... I had found several versions of the song... but ya just can't beat the Muppets.
Too bad we lost Henson at such a young age...
Rob - what's the latest on XS?
