The worst thing about the full helmet is that I can't pick my nose!

I had a 3/4 helmet with a blue bubble shield .... and bad allerges ... imagine the mess ....

I havent voted because I have every type of helmet listed...I mostly use my Nolan N102 as a 3 season helmet and I also wear a Shoei TZR full face non flip helmet in the winter.Prior to 2007 I had used open faced designs...cop tops or 3/4 helmets. But now I only use full faced designs..

I've worn a full face helmet ever since I took a jaunt across a field on my trusty steed (75 Honda CL-360) and ended up with the steed trying to ride me instead, and in the process the off-road style bar's crossbar hit me in the lower lip, requiring 20 something stitches in 3 layers in my lip. I had old catgut working it's way out of my lip for years, and there was lots of pain involved. I bought a full face right after that and have always worn a full face helmet since.

Full face & Half

Since it's kinda cold these days I'm wearing a Bell full face that I bought at Wallmart for around $70 including sales tax.

When the weather gets hot I'll more than likely switch to the ol' white half helmet.

Most of the time I wear an HJC CL-15. It's both DOT-218 and Snell M-2005 rated (although child sizes and XXXL watermelon-head sizes are only DOT rated). It's got a good ventilation system, and an easily removeable visor. For $120 it makes my noggin feel nice and safe. Now all I need is a Newt Suit for the rest of my body .

Getting a half helmet

I have a full face and a modular, but find myself not using them for short jaunts around town, which is 80% of my riding. So, with that in mind, I just sent away for a Zox Banos helmet. It's kind of a cross between a beanie and an open face. Decided to get it because Iron Pony in OH is clearing them out for $19 !!! It's a $65 helmet msrp and I've been very satisfied with Zox products so far. Should get it toward the end of the week, I'll follow up with a report after I try it out.

Living down in florida with no helmet law it is very tempting to hop on the bike with no lid and take off to the beach.But...buy the time you are going home some bug,stone,sand,or crazy kid in his dads hummer almost hits ya it makes me think where the hells my helmet...so I like my HJC fullface no shield with nice shades.

I bought a helmet for my girlfriend and son to share since when they tried to wear mine (XL) there were way too loose.

I couldn't believe it when I saw one that match the colors on my new Raider (Silver with black and red stripes), it was a Shoei....freaking $425.

So I went with a silver HJC full helmet since I like my own HJC full face helmet for $145.

Makes me wonder just how much better the Shoei helmets are to justify the much higher price. Other than the pinstriping they look almost identical.

I vted some time ago that I always wear a full face, about 6 months ago, I picked up a Yamaha fairing off ebay for my bike, I mounted and wired it into the bike as a result, I started using my 3/4 helmet more often (the fairing has a cigarette lighter on it and I find it kinda fun to smoke while riding. I also added one of those old "taco bell" Godzilla cup holders (from the Matthew Brodderick version's promotional campaign) to the fairing so I can carry a water bottle along for the ride, just another reason for the 3/4 lid. I'm just all kinds of comfy on the old girl now. have a nice day and ride safe

I went to an open house thingy at the local BMW stealer today, and walked around looking at all the really expensive bikes. Not too many helmets available there, but I did notice one thing that caught my attention. I look a picture of it to share here. It's a display of the percentage of where impacts most often happen on helmets in crashes. Considering the huge percentage in the lower chin area, I'm convinced that the full-face is the way to go.

I wear an HJC Symax modular. It fits great, and vents great.

i wear my m2r full face when the weather is less than perfect , and i have one of those german helmets for when it's nice out (not one of the cheap novelty ones)
