Bought a 3/4 HJC a couple years ago with a full face smoked shield. I find myself riding with it up in stop and go traffic during the summer.
Went for a ride today, swapped out the shield for the visor since it was so nice out . Alot more air noise in it for sure.

Would not recommend it. It is cheap -Plastic latches etc. and NOISY. Face shield does not seal nor stay in various positions well. Wind noise is loud. Lowest price favailable for that type helmet, but...
for a few dollars more , I could have bought a Nolan.

If I can find a flip helmet that doesn't freeze my face, I would just use it.

My friend has a Nolan modular, full face flip up, and complains about the noise and cold winter air. I prefer a full face even though it is awkward talking to each other at the light. KBC full face DOT and Snell approved for me. Would like to get a HJC carbon fiber helmet like Russ (Russ79) has, sooooo much lighter.

Looking at the results of this poll really surprises me. I would NEVER have guessed that the majority of people here use a full face. Around my area, the only full-face wearers are the crotch-rocket riders. Anyone on anything else usually wears one of those tiny skull caps. It's nice to know I'm not alone with my full face.

"Remember this was one of the first "crotch-rockets"!"

Yes, but like our youth, this is long past!

These are now a moderately powerful museum piece. They deserve to slow down, and take it easy, see the scenery and, occassionaly, blow the doors off a v-twin.

Full face Arai and all the safety gear, never anything less.
If I didn't have one on last fall I would probably be dead right now.

                      helmet

I have an HJC cl-15 I think?! I'll have to check. It was cheap and DOT and Snell approved. It's huge and any arai or other better brand fits just as well but much MUCH smaller.

                        Helmet

I wear the full face most of the time, but here in Florida and driving in traffic, I have to switch to an open face when the weather gets hot.

I just picked up a Shark Evoline Modular. It's absolutely incredible. The first modular helmet to be certified to European standards (better than DOT or SNELL) both with the face up and down.

Hopefully next weekend will be nice enough that I'll be able to get out there and put it to some good use. Being Indiana, I won't hold my breath for that but I'll at least cross my fingers. Indiana... if you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes. It'll change!
If you don't own a fire extinguisher, do me a personal favor and go purchase one... immediately.

I currently have a AFX Fx-10. I hate it! I'd rather go hoodless than wear that hunk of junk! I am starting to look for a new lid. Not too sure what type I will go with. Kinda like the one brent wears.

I put "brain bucket" on the poll. I most often wear a DOT half helmet similar to what the police use. Yes, I know it is inadequate protection. I have a 3/4 open face helmet that I use some and I have an Arai full face helmet.

The Arai is at least the 3rd full face helmet purchase. The others all went on eBay because my head is alien as in long oval. They hurt my head. The Arai Profile Series was expensive, but it fits very well. It keeps my face from the wind.

The worst thing about the full helmet is that I can't pick my nose!
