but may not charge in such members for the Products in excess of these costs.

Many years ago, a club of ours had a tent set up at a ride. Although not licensed to sell beer we were allowed to give it away. A donation box was set up on the bar asking for a voluntary two dollar donation. Nudge, nudge, wink, wink.

The wheels of progress turn slowly!

            Hey Rob,

Don't worry, I would have brought it back up ONCE I had gotten the patches!

The patch maker....manager waived the change fee since it was really their fault that it got to the SEWOUT step before they had actually gotten the copyright permissions. They have the hard copy contracts in hand now, but are still contacting YAMAHA corporate for double proof that they have permission to use the Logos and such before they will proceed!?

So....still waiting for them to send me a NEW graphic for approval, etc., but it's still in the works!!!

            Are we having fun yet!?

I like them both although the "Yellow" is a bit overpowering. I'll go with "White".

It would appear that the yellow patch is what is intended to be made. Hopefully it will happen, I would hate to think TC put this much time and effort into it for it to not happen.

As to the no profit concept, I think most members would realize that a donation may help your order be recognized before some of the ones without, that seem to get misplaced. Not that TC would intentionally do anything like that of course.

I would love to have one of those patches.

                        Are we having fun yet?

                        Hey BNE and others,

Okay, was wondering when someone would resurrect this thread BEFORE I had a chance to get things DONE!

I had contacted the patch makers the first week of Dec., called them and verified that they had received the HARD COPIES of the copyright permissions I had gotten from YAMAHA CORP., and they told me that they had.

I then on 12-10-2008 received an updated version of the patch design which incorporated the Yamaha name/tuning forks logo and such, thought great! SO I approved the design, and sent it back so that they could then take it to SEWOUT proofing and then final approval and get them made!

I waited several weeks, Holiday rush time and such, thinking that they had gotten Year End or New Year business, but in the first week of 2009, I wrote them again asking about the status of the patch!

That's when I was told that I had "NOT" gotten the required copyright permissions, and that they had CANCELLED the patch ...WITHOUT EVEN CONTACTING ME ABOUT IT!!!!

SO...I essentially FIRED THEM. I then sought another company, sent them the electronic copies of the copyright permissions, contracts, the contact info for the person at Yamaha Corp if they needed to confirm the validity of the documents, and asked them IF they could work with us.

They stated they had ALL they needed regarding the permissions, have sent me a quote, have approved it, awaiting the graphic work which I was promised will be received tomorrow/Monday. I've already provided the CC # and such, and so hopefully once I approve the graphic, it'll be put into production, and a few(2-3) weeks after that, we'll FINALLY have this patch!!

I think I posted a copy of the previous TEST SEWOUT of the patch, and the YELLOW background is actually fairly MUTED, not as VIVID as in these illustrations, in other words, it's not being made with NEON thread!!

Hang in there folks, I promise I have not forgotten this project!!!!

                          New SEWOUT TEST PATCH!!

                          Hey Folks,

Just showing you that I'm keeping on top of things. Below is the latest newest SEWOUT test patch, it doesn't show the merrowed/sewn border, and it's not attached to the backing, but you can see the SIZE and the detail. The background color is a bit muted as I predicted, and the bike color is a darker Maroon vs. the other companies more reddish color. I think it looks great, and have approved it to go into production, should be about 2-3 weeks from this point!!!!

Once I receive them IN HAND, then I'll be taking/receiving and filling orders, but NOT until then, and again, just as a reminder, due to the limited quantity, will be requesting only 1 per household. I'm sorry, but Yamaha put the # limit, and so I think it only fair to allow as many regular XS11.com members to have first access to at least ONE of these "OFFICIAL" commemorative patches! THEN...after a reasonable amount of time, a few weeks, IF there are any leftover, then I'll gladly provide repeats to those that would like more than one, ie. for a SWMBO, child, bro, etc.!

Actually Yamaha specified that they wanted the tuning fork logo on the patch.Initially it was not included.UP here the tuning fork logo is on many of the newer model bikes BTW...

                                Hey Aussie,

Yeah, Yamaha Motor Corp sent THAT VERSION of their LOGO and NAME to be included in the patch, so they have upgraded their MC logo apparently to match with their other interests, like musical instruments, etc.!

IF you'll follow this link: http://www.yamaha-motor.com/
                                You'll see the NEW LOGO!
