That's REAL good advice and I would add that Armor All should not be used on handlebar grips, seats, brake parts including the disc's, passenger grab points or foot pegs for that matter. Tires is OK so long as you don't apply it to the treads as is seen in the pics of my bike.

      • I regularly armor all my tires(not tread). AS for the rest, I have a special conditioner that serves the same purpose as armor all, but it helps the rubber or whatever maintain its friction properties. It protects plastic, vinyl, rubber, or just about anything. I can't remember who makes it though. The bottle broke long ago. It was designed to be put on things that were too dangerous to armor all

            • Here's my latest project undergoing a slight tweaking

And post tweak straightened out nice.

I bent it badly years ago and have finally got round to straightening it. Pity I can't do the same on the damage to my body

                  On my body??

                  Unfortunately yes! quite a few

None on the frame though, I had already cut the pressed steel bracing from under the steering head to allow the head to be pulled straight. These will be replaced with tube later and braced with plating to make it look similar to original (but stronger, hopefully )

I have just put the full write up so far, on the UK XS forum here

                  • resurect this thread for my resurected bike

i put the glare in to to hide the guy's leaving some dents on the tank for my 400.00 paint job, he cut corners on top of not being a true craftsman, he sold me on his custom color he had laying around, iit's nice but a little bland sometimes lots of micro flakesi could live with the shoddy work, some area do look great tho.

drilled discs, painted, 4 into1, it's coming together, now if i could get it to run right...

If it runs that's all that really matters. The rest is icing.
