  • This is MIYAMI a couple of years ago. She's in intensive care right now, getting taken apart to clean every piece.
I would suggest that if anyone has not taken their XS apart, to do so. I've found rust, cracks, broken pieces and unservicable stuff under the 28 year old grub, grime and paint. Needless to say, she's down for the count. I'll take a few pics of her during her progress and start a new thread to keep everyone up to date on what I find and how I fixed it.
And to think I was doing 100+ many times on bad stuff ready to fall apart.

        • A bike dosen't have to be shiny and clean to look good.
A bike that shows that it can and has taken it's owner places has a quality all in itself.
A non-running bike can be polished to look like a show bike but road grime shows it's made it there and back, and probably had a blast doing it.

My recently re-built, hopped up '79 Special caught fire and burned everything from the top of the engine up: gas tank, wiring, seat, & melted my windshield all over the front of the bike. Just bought a 1980 Special that has been non oped for 9 years. My Skoot will rise from the ashes and be re named "The Phoenix!"

                • How do you do it?

Many of us use photobucket.com. You can post your pics there for free, then copy and paste a link in your message to this site and your image will magically appear here. Don’t have the time to explain the steps now, but if you go there and establish an account (it’s free) I think there is a tutorial. If that’s too much of a hassle let us know and someone or I will be happy to help.
I clicked on your link and didn’t have any luck. I’d like to see whatcha got.

Love the bikes, but I must ask you, for safety sake please do not armour all your tires. Can be extremely dangerous.
