    My first 1100...

So here's my newest addition to the stable. It needs a little work on the transmission and a rear caliper replacement, but I only paid $200.00 for it, so I should be up and running for fairly cheap and before too long. Still trying to decide if I'm going to do it myself or have someone else do it for me.

Yep, definitley an XJ. Rear grab bar and swirly wheels give it away.

Looks good! It's all there, from the pictures. The tranny fix isn't all that hard. do yourself a favor and use the tech tips and do it yourself. You will feel so much better about yourself, and you'll love your bike a whole lot more afterward. It's not that hard, and you get to see the inside of the tranny, and how it all goes together. It will help you to understand and troubleshoot things later, should anything appear.

Ozlad - That's the first "R" I've seen! Pretty cool! Looks like a cross between a Standard (tank and seat), a MNS (black parts and swirly gold wheels), and an XJ (handlebar riser). I could sit and and study that thing for an hour!

                  A few questions though:
Is that the larger,6-gallon, "venturer"-sized fuel tank?
Are the brakes on that one linked? (Rear and front left connected to the pedal)

                    CatatonicBug,
The brakes are not linked, back brake only of foot pedal.... tank is around 21 litres, if I remember correctly that is around 6 gallons. I have had this bike a few months now and have tried to find out about what models were brought into Australia but NOT having any luck here....I have seen one on ebay a few weeks ago in Brisbane which was identical to mine so I suspect this is how it was sold here.... met another Xsive this week, Steptoe from Bunderberg, and he reckons it is pretty much stock, glad to meet him as he is only a short 6 hour ride away....his words lol... anyway I am wrapped in the bike and can't thank you guru's enough for a wealth of information... mate, I googled for a manual and landed on your home page and found a link to Heaven...XS11.com

Glad I could help you out with that! I know there are several other aussies on this site, but none of them list that they own and "R", IIRC. I like to study the differences between the models, so it's good to finally see yours.
