              • some really good lookin'

                machines here.

Aussi ... looks like a US F, 'specially in the seat department. I see the 200mm rectangle changed to a round one at some point between the first and last photo. Love the painted fenders look.

Pshcyo ... awesome special. Looks great without the badges. Super clean and the leather bags are cool too ...

Bikerphil ... I like the look of the leadling axle front end alot .... why did you change out the Standard front end for it, may I ask? Is there an advantage to the Special front end or was it convienence or preference?

Both the sets of Standard forks I own are crap, sticking and whatnot. I had an extra set of Special forks, calipers, and speedo hub laying around so I tossed them on and it's a heck of a lot better handling than it was. This will work fine until I decide which front end mod I'll be doing. I also had to modify the fender a bit for it to bolt up.

The PO is no longer living. I bought this one from the family. It only has 3k miles of which I have put only 700 miles. This one is truly cherry and probably won't be ridden as much as my 78E.

                    • Rather old picture (about a month ago).

Since then she's gained a few things (headlight and blinkers), and lost a few things (the carbs, which are sitting on my workbench). I'm hoping to have her road-ready in a couple weeks, and I'll take a new picture then.
                      Currently XS-less.

Thats what mine looked like when I first aquired her - well apart from the SEAT, 'bars, panniers, I had the (repulsive to me) diving mask headlight and stock indicators - but the colour is the same..... oh yeh, there was a massive ding in the tank as well- but apart from all that it was the same.
