Sorry to hear that Scott, even though similar circumstances kept me away last year.

Cabin 23 is going to be the chow line and BS central for those looking for a spot. I'll see if I can find a KOA map link, or else I'll scan the one I have into this thread.

You all should be seeing some more paved areas this year on the grounds........sure cut down on that slight dust-haze in the lower areas. Ride safe all, and no crash test dummies this year!

          Kabin share available

My better half and I have secured the Kabin reserved by Scot that he can't use. It has a queen bed and 2 bunks, so I guess we can sub out 2 bunks.
          Bare bones amenities: no toilet.
We have it reserved for Friday and Saturday night. Let me know if you want to buy in.

My recently re-built, hopped up '79 Special caught fire and burned everything from the top of the engine up: gas tank, wiring, seat, & melted my windshield all over the front of the bike. Just bought a 1980 Special that has been non oped for 9 years. My Skoot will rise from the ashes and be re named "The Phoenix!"

              +1 on tenting.

I reserved a tent spot, mentioned the XS11 group, but don't know if they specifically have a spot for us. I got the impression they were going to put me near the Kabin LoHo is using as command central. They did give me a group discount, though.

Jerry, did you camp down by the lake two years ago? How was that? It looked a little sparse, if recall.

                      Too late

I can't get a room anywhere near the rally this year. I spent so much time preparing for the long ride to XSEast that I forgot about the local rally. Maybe I can make the CO rally. The high mountain passes turned me around for the long trip. Things like freezing rain, black ice and snow at 8000 ft turned me around long before I could get to the 12000 ft summit.

                        Hey PlaneDick!

If you don't mind sharing a cabin with my better half and I, we have a cabin reserved with a couple of empty bunks and we could use some help with the rent.
Hope you get this and let me know!!!

                          Rooms for rent

                          Planedick,

If you don't accept Special Ed's offer (a really good deal). We found a room in Paso Robles. It's far enough away, apparently, not to be affected by the Cal Poly graduation (which is what has eaten up all the rooms in the area). It's only a short jaunt from the Kampground in Santa Margarita ('bout 18 - 20 miles).

I plan on showing up and letting them know I'm part of the group. There should be room, one way or another. Folks at that KOA are NICE, and they don't mind the bikes as long as we try to respect the other campers.

good idea!......I still dont know if i'm going but sounds good anyway!...There is a ride out here for charity that weekend so if i decide i dont want to ride out that friday evening because of some kind of time setbacks, them im going to do that poker run instead...for this girl with brain cancer...she lives in lucerne so i might be doing that instead...but, if the time doesn't hurt me on the side of when i'm leaving and having a 6 hr ride ahead of me, then i'll be coming up there...wont be getting in till around 11pm or midnight, will any of you be up still? I figure i can still throw 25 bux to the charity poker run if i come to the xscali...
