            Yeah, thrilled.... <dark chuckle>

I'm removing the starfish washer on the shift drum for the second time that day. The bike got stuck in 5th gear on the way down the mountain from the ranch. Roo and I laid the bike against a barbwire fence at the bottom of the hill so I could pull the left side cover, retrieve the shift pin and straighten the starfish washer without losing any oil.

Garth had a spare starfish washer at his place that hadn't been bent so I laid the bike in the ice plant and changed it out then we all went went riding.

Apparently, I didn't get all of the ice plant cleaned off and engine heat combined with the plant juice etched the clutch and alternator covers. I have some cleaning to do.

              extra

Extra parts are nice to have , my parts bike lives on in quite a few bikes, the wiz has the back rim , plane dicks bike has the triple tree , on my 79f I used some electrics and the air forks, and some brake parts , 3phase has the washer and a valve and hopefully doesn't need more. Probably the best 100 bucks I have ever spent !!

Vicki and I are planning on riding this weekend. We were going to go to Oak Glenn for brunch and a piece of apple pie, but we cold be dissuaded and opt for an alternate location. Or, we could meet somewhere between our respective locations?

                    hey Ralph

Hi Ralph,,,long time since Rally. I bet your wife loved those curvy roads in the backcountry at the Rally. She had the biggest smile for hours after that. Anyway, last weekend was out for everyone. Soon as the S.D. crew get together somebody will post the place to meet and ride......see you, Mike
