The swingarm driveshaft --> final drive gear coupler was dry or
the final drive --> rear wheel coupler?

I had to grease both of them a couple of times. They just don't seem to want to stay greased.

Got it! I haven't really nailed that one down yet. If I add a little too much grease it leaks all over the rim, tire, up my back and pant leg.

If I don't add quite enough grease it squishes out from between the contact teeth and just sits there not really doing anything useful. I changed the seal the last time I had the wheel off. It hasn't leaked but I haven't ridden that much.

How's the painting and the rest of the project coming along, Gene? I finally got my bike running reliably again so I don't have to take it apart every fourty or fifty miles to tighten up the transmission.

Hey Scott,

Found a paint shop and finally have all the chrome. Motor is still apart. APE is just about done with the head. I might have to buy a rider for this season. I really need some vacation time to focus and finish, but we are so busy and with this economy I'm not going to complain.

I just got back from a little 1,200 mile trip to San Diego, the Colorado River, Lake Havasu, Las Vegas, then back home -- tired but happy.
