It looks to me as though our options are either an inexpensive motel with no real falvor of a lodge or someplace like the Iron horse that has alot of flavor like a lodge. Seems to me that in keeping with the past theme a lodge setting if preferred? It does look much more comfortable and accomodating.

The XS650 rally has moved to the Iron Horse this year. (reluctantly) Those folks are just as cheap as us. I hope to attend the 650 rally and report back. Theirs is the 3rd weekend in April. Best I can do.
I enjoyed the first rally we had at the Blue Ridge Motorcycle Camp. I would be OK with going back there.

GT just posted this on the TWO list...wonder what they are planning?
A special thanks to all those who helped get done what we had to. It was after 11pm Tuesday when we called it quits. A lot of the furnishings, bedding, linens, etc went to some of the not so fortunate that live up in the N. Georgia Mtns, Thanks to the local Church who got the word out to these families...
The spirit of TWO is sill alive because it was you, the the guests, who made it that way. We only provided a venue for that spirit, just because that venue is not available doesn't mean that the camaraderie stops! As one door closes an other opens, We'll keep you posted what's behind that door...

OK folks. Anyone planning to attend, needs to call the Iron Horse Lodge and make a reservation. Anyone who THINKS they might attend, needs to make a reservation immediately. Reservations will not be required for tent campers.

XS11 Atlanta-Buffalo Repositioning Trip
By Brent for Jeff Hallberg:
Like we all appreciate, it is always great to take a bike ride, any bike ride. But a one-way trip from summertime Atlanta to end of winter Toronto is a bit unusual. That in itself would be a 'grand' experience but made awesome by the opportunity to be taking the trip on an XS11. How did this happen? Well, MaxiumPhil's 'Addie' spent the winter in Atlanta and now is ready to return home to Mississauga Ontario.
Like any spring ride, especially a long distance ride, planning a 'ride window' between the storms and tornado's (don't forget the possibility of snow, hail & sleet too) can be a challenge. Well, after taking a one-day weather delay waiting for a better weather window, it was time to head north on Sun Apr 17 from Atlanta to the meet point in Buffalo. Since this was a bike re-positioning ride the only planned sightseeing was to watch Summer disappear in the mirrors and watch Spring and then Winter magically materialize in the windscreen. Truly, amazing to experience.
Route choice was either I-75, I-71, I-90 or I-85, I-77, US19, I-79, I-90. Luck would have it that the weather was best on the more scenic GA, SC, NC, VA, WVa, PA, NY route vs the GA, TN, KY, OH, PA, NY path.

Thanks Brent,
Addie is home. I met Jeff in Buffalo and made it back across the Niagara River where the ice floes from Lake Erie were passing under the bridge. Cool and dry would be a kind way of describing the weather. Vicious side winds made for a challenging ride.
Addie is still acting up but both Tinman905 and Big Daddy Funk have inquired about visiting the patient so we live in hope.

I realize Jeff has not posted his story of the ride to Buffalo as he is riding the Greyhound back to Atlanta
Today i rode Addie up to Orangeville to meet BDF at Tinmans' house. While it did not feel particularly cold i was alarmed to see SNOW from the seat of my motorcycle
After some breakfast they changed the coils. Cleaned up the plugs and then I took her for a ride.
No change to the problem area of 1500 to 3500 rpm. Next was to check the carbs.
Tinman decided the only effective way to do this was to install a known good set of carbs. He proceeded to remove the gold painted carbs from his bike.
After these were installed i took off on another ride. What a difference. Cured all the rough /bogging symptoms she has suffered with for so long.
BDF had driven from North Bay (a 3 1/2 hour drive)to be there helping with making Addie run properly.
Thanks guys.
I AM HUMBLED by the generosity of my friends.

Hey Phil, I think Addie's carbs have the wrong emulsion tubes and /or needles in there, they looked too new when I had them apart. Glad the problem has been identified and you have your bike back, good luck!2H7 (79) owned since '89

"Time to Ride" = - XS11 now heading north
Posted by Brent for Jeff Hallberg
“Time to Ride” - XS11 now Heading north!
It is always fun to ride, - and just keep riding. Especially when the weather is absolutely perfect. Departure day Temps warmed up to 75 degrees, with no wind at all, and not a cloud in the sky. Those conditions were in play all across Georgia, all across South Carolina and North Carolina, then into Virginia. Just sunny and warm. Just a perfect day to keep riding …. (To bad this wasn’t an XS11 Rally Group iron-butt ride). The first clouds didn’t appear until going up the mountains into WV. To keep all this in perspective, I need to mention that at the same time I was enjoying a warm & sunny ride day it was snowing in Buffalo and Toronto.
So, I departed Atlanta and cruised up I-85 with 1st gas stop / pit stop at Anderson SC. Phil’s XS11 was running great, so Gas n’ Go, just keep riding. At Charlotte got on I-77 with 2nd gas stop in Hendersonville, NC. 3rd Gas n’ Go stop in Wytheville, VA with 4th stop in Summersville WV on US19. Hey, this is fun on the XS11 and Addie is rolling off some serious miles (or I should say KM’s). It was full summer green everywhere in GA , SC and NC until heading up the mountain into Virginia. That is where spring & summer began to disappear. By the time I made the 4th gas stop in Summerville I realized I had been riding all day and never stopped to Eat. Thankfully there was a Taco Bell right next to the gas station. Actually I had attempted to get a hamburger at Wendy’s at the last stop back in Wytheville but the place was so screwed up there was no food orders coming out. Just a lot of mad customers who were expecting fast food not a long wait for no food. Guess we have all experienced that fiasco of watching the restaurant staff run around accomplishing nothing.
Gas Stop 4 Decision point - get motel or keep on riding? Well, "let’s ride". I ended Day 1 in Bridgeport WV on US50 & I-77 at 8:30pm with 560 miles completed. The plan for the next day was to ride to the Peace Bridge in Buffalo to meet Phil. That might have been a good plan but the weather did not cooperate. Something about ice?? Actually the morning ride started out fine but temperatures dropped quickly heading north. So did the blossoms of spring as I headed into winter. Pittsburgh wasn’t bad but it just got miserable cold south of Erie PA with light rain. No Buffalo meet with Phil today with the lake effect winter weather, so I made my way to Jamestown NY to await better conditions. After a two day weather delay Phil go his bike, but he had to endure a two hour ride in 40 mph winds with temps in the high 30’s. Burr!
Burr is right…. Too cold here in the north for me! The Greyhound Bus got me home via Cleveland, Cincinnati and Knoxville. The bus trip was actually good and it was fun to see Spring Blossoms and then Green Trees appear traveling across KY and TN heading south back to warm 80 degree Atlanta. The XS11 trip was a great ride and a great experience. The XS11 is an amazing machine for long distance touring, very smooth and very comfortable. If I was a better ‘wrench’ I’d try and find one. By the way, if you haven’t traveled from south to north or visa-versa in mid-April to watch winter – spring – summer magically appear (or disappear) I would highly recommend it as a must do. -and do it on an XS11 if you can!
