For Talihena? I'm leaning toward a fall ride for several reasons.

I'm going to be hard pressed to do it the spring for a variety of reasons. Also spring is the most turbulent weather time in OK.

Summer in SE OK is miserable IMO. Besides I'm going to be gone a lot on a few trips some of which may included riding in a cooler climate (ie Colorado)

The fall weather is better and I won't be quite as busy.

Concerning a closer date for a ride...John and I spoke a few weeks ago about meeting in Ardmore and riding in the Arbuckle Mountains and around Turner Falls. I'm guessing I would be able to do that in May...but it will be a short notice thing for me. I'm not sure exactly what week I'll be able to ride because we are expecting grandchild numero 2! The little princess should be here around mid-May but I'm on hold for that one.

Are ya up for that one? I'm sure we'll be posting back here on it soon.

I'd be interested in the Talihena ride or the Turner Falls ride also. Just need some dates. May is already looking full, but might be able to work it in. Fall ride will probably be easier. Just let me know.

        Maybe some more TeXSives

Hippe Dave is talking about trailering our scoots up to the ride. We may be able to ride the "OklaTeXSive!"

We'll have to see when the ride is, and if we have vacation time.

          Shift change

At work has forced to me take Thu-Fri as new days off, beginning on the fifteenth of April. Looks like I'll have to pass on anything for the next three months, unless y'all can get away on Fridays. Damn!

But, on the positive side...I get to run the SWMBO 2.0 program two days in a row!!! What I like about that program, is that it is Plug n' play!!!

Well... while waiting for a nice Springtime ride in the cool weather, I kinda blinked and missed it. Went from rainy 60's and 70's to high 90's! Still looking forward to anything you guys plan on having.

Heh...I was down there this weekend...about 10 miles southeast of Jacksonville sawing up a big-ass tree.

Might be down there next weekend (one of the three days but I'm not sure yet)...I'll be in Big Iron instead of on The Dragon but maybe some lunch in Jackosnville or Rusk?

                      ArklaTex Rally

                      Yeah Louis,

I hope to be posting something later on ... maybe July.

I've been to Talihina last week looking around. It's a very nice little town. There are two motels and of course Talihina State Park for those that would like to camp.

I would prefer to do this ride in Late September or early October just to have nice cool rides. July and August in the Ouachita Mountains is AWEFUL! It can easily bust 100* with 70% humidity...an environment my body doesn't understand.

OK Maximan we need a date. fifi and I desperatly want to do this ride. Like most we need at least 4 months and preferably 6 months to plan and arrange. Throw a dart at a calender or something! Accomodations in resort areas can get booked up months in advance. Let's get this settled this week.

I'm sorry, we're on xs11 camp withdrawal and need help.

                          DART!?!?!

Ok how about Sept 29, 30 and Oct 1? The temps should be moderately warm to cool. Hopefully no rain that weekend. But that's about 3 and half months out.

BTW are you bringing the '79 or the Venture?...or both?

                            Done! Sept 29- 10-1.

                            See how easy that was?

We have some options but we do plan to be there.
We're trying to get fifi trained up on an 82 Suzuki SP 500 that Jack B in Midland found for us.
We have a long road to hoe here as she is very inexperienced but very willing to learn.

I have entered the KLR 650 realm from which I may never return. Our best desire would be me on the KLR and she on El Diablito Rojo hauled in with the Tacoma.
Of course many things can happen to the best laid plans so our next option would be the Lizard Lounger.

Like most long time xs11 owner's and camp attendees we have added to the stable. T-Rex is waiting for his turn, but it won't be this summer.

We hope to and plan to see you all at Talihena in the fall.

LMAO... I KNEW you would pick those dates when I started to read this. Headed back home to Wash State that weekend for 20 year reunion. If you are set on that date... ok. I will try to make another one. If it's not too solid, I bid for a new dart throw! lol.
