We should start planning an XSive Rally at Talahina. The ride to Mena, AR as you know is a world class road trip.

There are several people here in OK that will show and north Texas will probably come since it's only 250 miles from the DFW area.

Sounds like a plan to me. I have never been to a rally... let alone planned one, but I would help any way I could. I just couldn't make it last week May/ First week June... headed to Florida. Besides that.... pick a day. I could even meet you over there somewhere to plan things out ahead of time if needed. Just let me know.

Try your hardest to be the kind of person your dog thinks you are.

You can live to be 100, as long as you give up everything that would make you want to live to be 100!

I've never plan one either. But let's who who would be interested and what times they are available.

I'm sure Dave Rockey will be. We've been kicking around doing a Talimena Drive ride for weeks now.

If any XSive is nterested just post here when you could NOT go to a rally in the mountains of SE Oklahoma. The Reason I say could NOT go is we'll be able to determine from that when most people would be able to go.

You might get a better esponse by posting in the members lounge. I have noticed this thread is a bit sporadic with the responses.

I'd be there if not otherwise committed!

I can make most weekends all the way through. It mainly depends on coursework assignments and the like. Which they would be given much closer to the date.

It'll probably be mid-March-ish before I get my motorcycle ready to ride (it needs new tires and a few other things).

              But I'm up for it.

                Dan

I figured you'll be there if not tied up elsewhere. You were on eof the NTEX guys I was thinking of.

                Firehawk

I would guesstimate this ride would be down in April or May. April can be a poor time because of the rain. But that all depends on who can go.

I started this thread to point you all to a site with photos of the area:

Sounds like a lot of fun where ever it starts at. I have owned Yamaha's (and Honda's and Suzuki's, and Kawasaki's, and .... ) and I keep coming back to the XS1100. I just bought another one to start the rebuild process on. I got the last one on the road last week, runs great so far, only have about 150 miles on it since I got it back on the road. I bought my first XS (an 850) in '82, six months later I bought a XS1100 and rode it for over 4 years. I strayed for while, but I finally saw the eeror of my ways and came back.
Galveston is closer for me than Dallas, but Waco and Galveston are about the same distance from San Antonio so I hope to make one if not both. It will be great seeing a bunch of XS1100's on the road.
