Sounds like a good spot even for just a cup of coffee and some cobbler! Thanks Bohn.

On Friday, I’m going to be crossing hwy 7 at Ola on hwy 10 to Danville and from there, west on hwy 80 thru ‘Blue Ball’ to Hon and there on hwy 28 to Oklahoma and Talihina.
I would have normally taken hwy 10 from Danville but just could not resist going thru Blue Ball. Back in Sept of 2004 when my youngest son and I went to Cincinnati to pick up my XJ, We passed a state park in Kentucky called ‘Big Bone Lick’

I was thinking the same thing last June when Hobbyman and I rode that way. That road is pretty uneventfull and I don't remember seeing any signs with that town name. They probably can't keep them up... people probably steal them.
If you've never ridden HWY 7, you won't be sorry. Also, if you choose to keep going west on 10 from Danville, do yourself a favor and turn right at Havana at HWY 309. When you get to the "T" 20+ miles later (And after stopping for the view on the mountain) loop it back around to Magazine on 109. Pretty nice little detour.
Either that... or meet us in Ola Friday and ride with us! lol.

Seems my room mates bailed on me. Stewart from GA is not attending, and Bohn is staying with a better room mate. (good choice!)
So I will ride in alone and as of now will have 2 empty beds in a room with 3 beds at Kiamichi Inn. Let me know if interested.
Reservation is for fri, sat & sun, but I will most likely need to leave early Sunday morning to make work by 0530 monday.
CU in Talihina or Arkansas on way in.
Brent in GA
PS I promise not to park my Haarrrrry in room.

Tod, I went around that Magazine mnt. loop a couple of weeks ago. It was great. And what really suprised me was that I got 41.4 mpg on that section of my ride, starting out in Conway and filling up in Boonville. Best I've ever got on any of my XJ's
What time do you think you'll be in Ola?

Depending on the others and what time they'd like to get up...then go eat B-fast... maybe somewhere in the 10-ish time frame?? There's a little restaurant about a 1/2 mile north of the Hot Springs Village front gate that we'll probably eat at, then take off from there.
At least that's the plan... I tore my motor apart again last night! lol. I SHOULD have it working again by this evening though. Gonna MIC my pistons and I honed another set of cylinders that I'm swapping out.

Just pieces and parts from 3 different used motors. I think I have the problem isolated though. If not... you can leave the governor at home and I can ride on the back of yours... right??
Trust me... you don't want me there just as bad as I don't wanna be there! Although... the recent wedgie pic..... lol.
Scraping gasket material and MIC'ing pistons right now... should be good to go this evening.

Back in the saddle again. Dave and Cody, thank you for the offers. I think the prudent thing would be to still bring a tow rope though.. .lol.
It's held together for 50 or so miles, so maybe it'll make it. My bike seems to hate this Talimena rally!
You can never tell this time of year. Forcast so far says 30% chance of rain. Bring what you need to stay comfy. It actually wouldn't hurt to get a good layer of road film on everybody's ride... mine would fit in better that way! If it does, it should pass fairly quick.
I'll see some of you Thursday... and the rest Friday evening.

I finally have set in stone what is our itinerary. Bob and I will be leaving Merriam Cycles Thursday afternoon and staying the night in Branson. Friday we will ride the scenic route to Talihina getting there late afternoonish. We have a room booked at the Kiamichi-whatever motel and will be staying there Friday night. So we should be able to attend your meet and greet in the parking lot. Saturday we will join you for the ride, and then that evening we will be on toward Hot Springs. Sounds like you all have a great ride planned, and I can't wait to join up with you all. Oh, and Tod, I have your cell phone number wrote down, so if we get lost, you will probably be hearing from us, ha ha.
Can't wait to meet you all!
