So Cody... does this mean we won't be roommates any more??

You realize you can't actually bring that granny to the rally. I mean... the only time we've seen her is in a bikini (Which I noticed that that pic was CONSPICUOUSLY deleted!) lol.

I was going to make some comment about you going up front to lead the rally again this year... but we'd never see her behind all the luggage racks, trunks, and fuel cells anyway.. lol.

Seriously...(I know.. it's so rare with me!) It will be great to meet the SAINT who puts up with you on a daily basis!

*Sigh... maybe ol' Mark will have room in his tent for me... lol.

So these are the ones so far expressing interest to go:

John and WildKat, Dale_1, Maximan and better 3/4, Yadada, Vincer, Jack and wife (Dale_1's friends), Bikenut1980, Bigfoot, Tinman, Shutchis, Dell82, Wayne, Isippell, Brent, Skippy344 and wife, Bohn Frazier, HippieDave and Cindy, Trbig.

      The "Possibly be there" group:

Russ79 and Bob Jones, Billy (Dale_1's son), Big James, and Hobbyman's dad Phillip.

So this would be 23 showing interest with 20 bikes, and 5 more people/bikes possible.... SO FAR!!

I appologize if I missed anyone right off the bat.. but we'll update this as we go. Just let me know and we'll add or subtract as needed.

I won't have the fuel cell so there will be no "in flight re-fueling". Everybody in California was giving me crap about having a "tanker" of fuel. But they're just jealous because they can't go 250+ miles between stops.

You won't see much of "The Governor" anyway regardless of where she's riding. When she crawls up on that pillion (rare rare occasion) she is fully clad in 1.3mm leather with body armor and a full faced Helmet. She is utterly repulsed by the idea of skin grafts.

Uh, much to my surprise, I do wake up and look around every now and then! I've never looked at this section of the forum until tonight, duh!

Tod, it would be great to see you again and meet everyone who rides along with you through here. There is plenty of info on the internet about Mena and the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism has a website that includes scenic bike routes plus other info on the areas of the state as well as contact info for a free and well put together vacation information package. If you order one, they will promptly mail it to you.

If anyone is not sure about making it to the next gas station, just let me know when and where to be along the trail and I will be happy to meet you anywhere with several gas cans. My home and cell phone numbers are available, so if anyone breaks down I can bring tools, oil, gas, and a trailer if one is needed.

There are several good restaurants in Mena with Tex-Mex, Chinese, plate lunch, one generic but pretty good country buffet and the usual fast food places.

I'll check back here nightly so if anyone needs room availability or any other information from the Mena area, just let me know. Mena is a motorcycle friendly town and you all are welcome here.

                Jim

                    Jim...

It's been 4 months! You were supposed to have a bike ready to go by now so you can ride with us!

I got to thinkin'... (Scary, I know) that if we make it to Mena and haven't ate yet, I'll try to get them to go 13 miles further to the Queen Wilhelmina State Park lodge. Their buffet is good, and the view can't be beat. We will stop for a fuel stop in Mena though... probably WalMart would be cheapest and easiest.. unless someone has a problem with them. I still have your number, so I'll try to give you an advanced call and let you know when we'll be in town if you want to come out and say hi... or better yet, come up the trail a few miles and come eat with us and take a few pics? Just a thought.

                    Tod

                      • LOL... I drove by that road sign this last weekend! (The yellow one showing "Bigfoot crossing"). We will be riding right through that intersection Saturday. I guess we could stop for a few minutes and check out the goings-on. I wonder how many of the people you'll see have seen bigfoot... AND been abducted by aliens!?!

My youngest boy was with us... he's 14 and has a 13 1/2 foot. I told him he better not be anywhere around that place that weekend... might get shot! Some reason... he didn't laugh as much as me.

The Bigfoot Conference at Honobia is more fun than serious. As a matter of fact most of it is a hood wink. I know one of the coordinators pretty well. Some of the stories can get pretty outrageous. And the "calling" techniques even crazier.

Personally I would prefer just to ride. Our odds of seeing one riding are much higher than hanging around "Christ's 40 Acres"...that is if you call 1 in 97,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 high odds.

                          Comment

                          • With odds like that.. if it's a good thing like hitting the lottery or something, it'll never happen to me. If it's a bad thing... odds are more like 50/50 for me when they are that high for someone else!

Here's a scenario of how my luck would be....

Riding along, things going great, and a big hairy thing jumps out in front of me wrecking me and my bike. I've got some serious medical bills, but it's ok because I will become rich by having the first actual body of a bigfoot.... only to have them determine that it was a previously unheard of breed of lowland gorilla that is on the endangered species list... and I get a $50,000 fine on top of my medical bills... and my bike STILL looks like Cody's after he faceplanted in Tahoe!! (Sorry.. had to throw that jab in there! lol)

I'm easy either way. We could stop for a few minutes if some want to, or keep going if that's the general consensus. Believe it or not...I hate to admit it, but I actually have a bigfoot story from when I was younger growing up in Washington State.. lol.
