"Very pretty" is a bit of a understatement regarding the skylne ride of Talihena Ridge. It is absolutely spectacular scenery and the riding is a hoot too. Much akin to a roller coaster.

For those interested the Queen Wilhemina Lodge up on the ridge road is also a nice place to stay. They have highly rated rooms (in more ways than one) with stellar views.

If I can get the "Boss" to ride with me ...I may treat her to this resort. The drawback is it's about 30 miles to Talihena where the hub will be. The plus is you ride the ridge road everytime you go to town!

      I am in

I made reservations @ Kiamichi Inn in Talahina OK (918)567-2243

They still had 10 rooms left this morning, 7-26-07.

I will be riding from GA over 700 miles. Long ride, but I went last year and it is worth the trip.

Better Hurry and get reservations soon ...Or you could get stuck in a nice state park lodge with Cody and have to make that commute from Arkansas. Still, it is listed in National geographic Scenic highways and byways and Readers Digest Most Scenic Drives in America

Camping may still be an option.

      Happy motoring,

            Mouchyns will attend

I just booked a room at the Kiamichi. We are planning on coming up the 4th and staying through the 8th.

Provided I have enough ignition units to last the trip.

            Stupid bike.

Another rally newbie here. Hope you don't mind having a Bigfoot of your own there. The Kiamichi now only has 2 rooms left. A double and a tripple. How could I resist with a xsive rally and a bigfoot festival. Got permission from SWMBO today and am looking forward to meeting you all.

Guess what? I just found out that I get one week off in October. I can't get my hopes up yet, but if it ends up working out, Hobbs will be there. My Dad may make it if I don't. I will try to get him up there. I know that you all have had enough of me but I am not giving up yet. I don't know my schedual for a month or so. That would really be kick a** if this worked out. I would get away from KP for one week up in the mountains and on a motorcycle no less. If I make it, I could meet up with you Bigfoot. That would be cool also. Don't worry Trbig, I won't be driving that fast again for a while. If I don't make it, take lots of pictures.

                  Hobbyman,

It would sure be good to see you or Phillip, even better yet BOTH of you!

Looks like I will be working the following monday, so I will likely leave early Sunday morning. Keep us posted.

Phillip, you have been rather quiet here lately. Hope all is well with you and yours.

Last year we had 10 or 12. This year it maybe more since Wayne and the TeXSives will be joining in.

Well, Bad news. RIght now it looks like I just lost my October break. They schedualed a Kings Pointer trip that I should go on during October break. It looks right now that I won't be able to go. MY Dad might still come regardless. We will see what happens.

Just looking at routes a bit. Is there anyone that can't safely make a 91 mile stretch without refueling? We can stop at any time to stretch and such, but the area that I'm looking at is fairly remote across this particular road. I'm sure there's a couple places if needed, but no telling what the price may be.

                              Now Todd, you know...

I can't go but 80 miles before I start seeing the red light, especially at the speeds that we run on these rallies!

I think I can make 91 in reserve, but when I run out, you will have to put SWMBO on your bike!

yeah, 91 is going to be a stretch for several. But i dont think anyone is going to be too worried about high prices on a bike anyway just so long as we have some options between.
