Anybody interested in an XS East rally July 4th weekend, 2005 in NY?

Glad to hear you'll be coming, and I think it's great your gonna bring your mother !
The rest of us have all seen you ride ..... has she ???
I think you'll find that most of the roads up here are pretty much "sweepers" we do have a few "borderline" twisites this is NOT North Carolina ! I think you'll find we have alot of scenic areas to go to and alot of great riding. Depending on how many people we get, and it looks like we're going to have enough ... we'll have more than one riding group. Some people will want to be more "aggressive" and some people aren't.
As far as having a safe place to park your vehicle, you're more than welcome to park at my place and take a bus into NYC, just so you know there are more options for the situation.
BTW, it's about 3 hours from here to NYC.
If you have any other questions, post them as they come up and I'll do my best to answer them.

That's partially true; my wife is glad to see me go on a Rally, she gets to use our (only) car all to herself for a few days.

And then there's the fact that our bikes are not the most comfortable for passengers. Better than a sport bike but not as good as Goldwing or a Harley FLH or a Yami Venturer.

Still, it would be nice if she came along to one of these rallies.....

Sally and I went almost 500 miles on the XS returning from Picton last year, with a bad steering head nut, we were comfortable. Sweepers are OK but those tight twisties do not go well with passengers...

Can We Go There?

Hey Bruce,
I've been checking out your location for this Rally. It seems that we are not that far from where they build the OCC bikes in Montgomery. About 2 hours.
I'm not sure how anybody else feels, but I personally would like to take a ride there and see it for myself. They have also opened up a retail store where they have their bikes on display. Seeing that they never come north of the border it would also be a good chance to go see these bikes that they have built.
I am also willing to send them an E-mail to see if it would be possible to set up a small tour for our group.

Let me know what you and everyone else thinks about this idea and I'll get on it one way or the other.
