Wow. I was not in my Iowa home until Feb 28th, just now going through threads.

Marty, I wish you a full and speedy recovery! Let us know the address of your rehab center.

Sally, hang in there. This is a time of stress but people are pulling for you as well as for Marty.

I am typing left-handed, a struggle. I detected small muscle movement in leg 2 days ago, finger yesterday. So rehab doing well. I'll be here till 24th, then hope to be in a secondary care facility in Kane. Dr's guess 2-3 years for decent recovery. But you know how competitive I am....

Thank you so much again for your prayers!!

May get to PC again next weekend.

          Bless you all!!

                Marty Update

                GOOD NEWS UPDATE
talked with Brent last night after he had gotten an update from Sally.

                > Marty is progressing well in acute rehab
                > Has even been up and doing a bit of walking (3 cheers and hip-hooray for that)
                > Will be staying in intensive rehab for two more weeks
                > Sally found an ground level assessable apartment in Kane
                > Plan is when Marty leaves the acute rehab they will move to their new apartment in Kane
                > Sally will provide more details and the address of the new apartment once the details are finalized

So for the next two weeks until Apr 13-14 Marty will still be at:
                Martin Ambrose

                Pittsburgh, PA 15215

As Marty said, with his competitive spirit he is going to keep pushing

Thanks for posting the update Jeff, plenty of us here have Marty and Sally in our thoughts and prayers. "competitive spirit'' is a bit of an understatement don't you think?

                    That's some great news !!!

They are 20 min. from us but we've been self isolating since St. Patrick's Day.

Would definitely visit if we could.

Just caught this thread. Glad to hear Marty is on the road back. Best wishes to Marty and Sally for a full recovery. Marty is not someone I would bet against.

                        Regards, Russ

Latest from Marty as of 4/11

I am able to take 15-20 steps unassisted, although I have many leg muscles that still haven't made the connection yet, so I do look a lot like a drunk pirate. My right arm has some movement, still has a long way to go. Likely still a year or more till I can ride.

Good news is Sally found a [tiny] one bedroom ground floor no steps apartment a few blocks from our home, so we leased it for a year. Still keeping our old house and address. We'll move in on Tuesday, 14th, when I'm released. It's a little scary thinking about being sorta on my own with Sally.

Still hoping for the virus silliness to end so you guys can get it ON!!
